Dawson Wren

She couldn't remember the last time she had actually went on a date, other than the first one with Dawson but besides that it had been an actual minute. It was a nice break from mindless flirting. Plus how could she be mad at the sight of new eye candy, especially as said eye candy sat across from her looking particularly handsome tonight. "You look handsome. I really like your outfit tonight." She shamelessly took a slow glance over his figure, before breaking into an easy smile. "Thank you for inviting me out again, Dawson."

Dawson liked dating. All the flirting was fun, of course. But this was a much better experience. Getting to know someone on a deeper level and finding out if there was a real spark there. "Thank you, but that's supposed to my line tonight. I love the dress." Dawson smiled at her, happy to let Michelle take a look at her for as long as she wanted. "My pleasure, I am glad you wanted to come out again."

"both is preferred." she confirmed "awfully confident, aren't we? i'm sure i could. depends on if anyone feels interesting enough"

"Can't think of a reason I shouldn't be." Dawson had confidence in his abilities to make anything he wanted a reality. "Everyone too boring tonight? I hear there is another party in the Hamptons tonight."

she rolled her eyes at the comment from dawson. the guy hadn't exactly done anything wrong but iris being iris stuck at a jamie park party meant that she was in no mood for nonsense.

Dawson let out a chuckle at her comment. Clearly, this wasn't a good night for her. He felt a little bad, tonight had been nothing but fun. Meeting more of Jamie's friends and some actual connections. He had done well so far.

"Thank you," Spencer smiled and he tried hard not to let it falter. He'd get back on the field, he would (right?), in no time. "You make a great point there. I should hang out in between paintings and sculptures more often. Much easier than sunglasses and wigs. That, uh, was a joke." He let out a dry laugh at Dawson's question. "It's more like, ah, commercials and photoshoots. I just got done letting out my 'inner lion'... Yeah, feel free to kill me once that one goes live."

Dawson smiled, imagining Spencer King trying to hide anywhere was far-fetched. A gallery would be a novel idea. "I figured, not a bad one. I would say you are probably a little less likely to be found." He laughed, shaking his head. Between all the things Jamie had told him and this conversation, he definitely wasn't interested in being a celebrity. "Yeah, that sounds rough. Please tell me that you didn't have to roar."

"You're at the beginning of your big city dreams, then? I may throw a few things you way, if you like. It's never a bad time to start building your blackmail archives," he grinned back. Nick chuckled at Dawson's entirely correct conclusion. "That you are. One thing about me, Dawson, I'm a giver. And I look impeccable on a canvas like a modern day Adonis."

"I just finished the move a few weeks back. I had been in and out before that. Never too early to start, especially if you have anything on my fellow artists." Dawson nodded his head at that. He wasn't surprised by that, he had gathered that from their last conversation. "I get that vibe from you, and I am glad. Been painted before? Consider me jealous."

"We must have met before, you already know me far too well," Nick winked. He had always enjoyed Valentine's Day and in a room like this, it was impossible not to indulge in a little debauchery. Nick was sure that Dawson had an interesting story behind him. "Ah, don't you make your own luck? I'm sure it's only going to get wilder and wilder from here on out for you, Dawson." Nick chuckled at his reaction to Angie Hunter (perfectly valid, of course). "Just let her do the talking, you'll be in safe hands. I saw her in 'Chicago' last month, she was a spectacular Roxie Hart." Their glasses clinked and Nick's devious grin grew. "Give me your phone."

"Must have been in a past life." Dawson looked at Nick, a grin teasing his lips. He often found himself in these kind of things, he always made easy connectons. "I get by on my luck and charm when my talent can't help me. I hope so, Nick." He nodded his head, processing just how insane tonight was. This would be one he would remember for a long time. "So now I need to get tickets to Chicago is what you are telling me." He handed over his phone unlocked without a second thought. "Yes, sir." He teased with a smirk.

events like these were good networking as much as they were just a fun night that had been planned. it wasn't lost on olivia that a lot of the who's who of the acting world were currently in the same room. "life moves so quick, this industry is relentless, taking five minutes keeps your sanity." she answered, blowing out her latest round of smoke "right...yeah, i forget that people still know me when i don't know them"

Dawson treated pretty much everything these days as a networking chance. He was an artist, but he also knew he wanted to be a successful one. He knew it wasn't just about talent, knowing the right people helped. "I can only imagine it must be a lot sometimes." He laughed a bit to himself. "Yeah, sorry that must always be weird."

the gallery event was in full swing and it was fine. if it were anyone else hosting, iris would be less resistant to it's assault on the senses but this was jamie park's event. no matter, iris was here for her boss, rebecca ravenwood (and her family by extension).

Dawson had a good time tonight, he enjoyed any chance to hang out with Jamie. They had a good time, but she had other guests to attend to, and he was sure he would see her again before she left. He had made some small talk, now he was wandering around the party.

"birds of a feather flock together...in this case it's the beautiful and the famous" she shrugged, she appreciated beautiful things. "i think a spoon would hold his attention. dumb and fun seems to be his brand"

"That's fair, do we all have to have both? I got the beauty, but fame is still a while away." Dawson smiled at her. "I am sure you could find more stimulating flirting in this room."

she had forgotten what it felt like to be in a room full of people that felt intimidating. she had time to adapt, she was used to these actors all being her mentors or peers for years now. this guy? it still looked relatively new to him "maybe, sometimes it's just to have a minute of quiet when you're in rooms as loud as inside." fleeting moments of solitude were rare these days "nice to meet you, i'm olivia burke"

Dawson smiled at Olivia, he got that. He was an artist too, networking and meeting people were part of the gig, but he found himself overwhelmed from time to time. He needed time to recover and get some of his thoughts straight. "Yeah, it's nice to take a beat, relax, and center yourself." He took a long drag from his cigarette. "I know, it's nice to actually meet you."

"Fine, fine... no dirty tricks, just raw talent. And your unquestionably bouncy curls. Oh! And your exceptionally perky ass, we can't forget that. But yeah, all of that together, equals you being better and therefore winning. Ugh, they better not make us wear orange," she laughed as they headed towards coffee. Dawson was ridiculously hot. Like pretty boy hot. It was sickening. "Big talk-," she started to tease before her jaw dropped! "Wh- Who... Jamie fucking Park? What do you mean? Like- Like thee...? I think I'm going to pass away."

"I am not above using my looks to get ahead. I mean, I was given them for a reason, I'd better use them. You better not forget that, it is my thing. I would rather not. Orange is so not our color, clashes with my skin tone." Dawson grinned as she reacted. He had hoped she would be excited. "Just thee, Jamie Park. The icon, the legend herself. Not only that, but we have been hanging out."

"It's practically meant to be! I mean, it would be rude not to at this point. Oh, so true... Peter is like, classy hot which is a lot harder to find than you'd think. Go you, we love this. Life is for the living, Dawson. You have to grab every opportunity you can before it's too late." And by 'too late' she meant 'your mom cuts you off'. Not that anyone needed to know that little detail. "I've got your back, babe. I'll be manifesting an iconic match for you tonight."

"You aren't wrong about that, and I have had enough trashy hot. My last ex was in a punk band, and they sucked so bad. Exactly, you never know what is gonna happen next. I would rather go for it and fail then doing nothing." Dawson was a dreamer and wanted to follow his dreams forever. "Thank you, I appreciate you. I am going to go grab a drink and make a loop."

it was nice to have a moment to herself. olivia looked over her shoulder to see the guy standing there with a cigarette of his own when she heard him speak up. "it's alright, we all need to grab a moment when we can, don't we?" she shrugged, taking a drag of her freshly lit cigarette.

Dawson had needed a moment to compose himself, being in a room full of celebrities was fun but a lot to handle. "Definitely, especially when you get swarmed like you do." He grinned at her as he took a drag from his cigarette. "Dawson Wren, by the way."

"Amazing. There's nothing like that feeling, isn't there? When you first arrive in a new place, surrounded by strangers, not knowing where the next step is going to take you. Have you traveled much? Sometimes I want to take a year off and explore every corner of this earth." Jamie grinned brightly as he agreed, watching as he took off his jacket. "Oh, thank you! I love 'Moulin Rouge', I must have seen it a thousand times and on stage? Oh my goodness. Blown away!"

"Yes, it's always my favorite part. Getting to know your new home. A little bit, I have moved a bit. I spent a year abroad in college, first in Paris and then in Rome. That's the dream, I hope I will do it one day. I can only imagine what I could create." Dawson looked around the room, considering the lighting as she spoke. "It is pretty great. I have seen it a few times, mostly amateur productions."

"I couldn't agree more," Jamie smiled, a hand over her heart as she listened to him. That was one of the main reasons she loved acting, connecting with her audience. Exposing her very soul for the chance of touching someone else's. They turned the next corner, arm in arm, and she waited for something to catch her eye. "I must say I love this space. What do we think the chances are of Peter Vanderbilt letting me rent the place out for an evening? Oh, the show is fabulous. I'm having so much fun! I'm more or less used to the fangs now. Sienna is incredible to watch, isn't she? Such a talent and an excellent scene partner. I'll have to let out writers know it's what the people want."

Dawson always tried to put himself fully into anything he was doing. He saw his art as a way to connect with everyone and to let people into who he was. He had a hard time doing that with his words, but it was easy when he could use his talent. "It's a great gallery. I am dying to get my art in here. You can get anything you want. Peter's a nice guy; I am sure he would love to have you host a part here." He grinned as he listened to her talk about the show; he could tell how happy it made her. He could listen to her talk about anything for however long she wanted, Jamie was captivating. "Gotta say whoever cast you as a beautiful ageless vampire deserves a big raise. She is, honestly, I am always surprised how different she is in person. You would expect her to have a much bigger ego for someone so young and talented. Oh, I demand it. I could watch you two do anything. A close second is her and Frankie."

"Oh, stop! You're perfect-," she beamed, smoothing down the front of his shirt. In the few short months that she'd known Dawson, she'd been completely enamoured with his spirit. "Did you pull this together? I love it. My wonderful friend, Lian, designed this for me. You would love her, she's such a character."

"Thank you, I might have been fishing for a compliment." Dawson grinned at her. If he ever needed someone to lift his spirits, Jamie was someone he trusted to help. She was unexpected in the best way. "I did some of the work, Andrea helped me thrift it. I think you are right, all your friends are very interesting."
