Additionally, this bill is in the very beginning stages, and may of course be simply a bid on the part of the coalition to attract (Jewish) women voters. Updates to follow.

As regards the recent affair in which the head of the PM's office allegedly harassed and stalked a female coworker.

It is important to note that the "exclusion of women" (the euphemism most frequently used in the media for violence against women) is hardly restricted to the Ultra-Orthodox. Sexual violence is one of the most common ways women are excluded from the public sphere, and it speaks volumes that this (may have, probably, definitely) occurred in the PM's office.

As you may have noticed, this blog was not active for most of the month of January. This has been partly for personal reasons (my schedule, usually full, was inordinately so this past month) but also because it hurts my heart to watch/read/hear about this subject.
