Hey y'all, just do me a HUGE favor and be careful while walking, please.

I was out walking my dog, about 6:30 PM, streetlights are coming on and sun is down, and I had reached down to fix her collar/vest set, when a strange, brownish-van started to pull into the little round-about street I was on, with the driver watching me. My dog is quick to bark, and I didn't want to make a scene shushing her, so I started turning around to go back the way I came... And the car started making the same turns as me, with the driver driver still watching me. The the road in front of him, no, his eyes were on me. Mid-aged, male, dark clothes and thick jacket, never seen him before in my life.

I take a few steps forward to make sure, yes, he is following me, and, what do you know, he starts pulling up just ahead of me and parks, engine still running, oh joy. My gut and my brain were both making the same choice, so I calmly stopped walking, bent down to 'straighten' my dogs collar a second time... Picked her up like a football, turned, and jogged all the way back home like a bat outta of hell.

Keep in mind, my town is LOOOOOOOW on crimes. Drugs, yes, stupid drivers, of course, and the occasional, but VERY rare Law-and-Order-like case, but we're a relatively quiet, mid-sized retirement/truck-stop town in SLO County, California.

But stuff like THAT can still happen, and maybe it was an overreaction, but my gut and my head were telling me something felt WRONG, and am BEGGING you all to listen to yourself if you get that same feeling.
