Desire unleashed on wattpad was indeed the plagiarised version of my 'Dancing with the Devil' vampire work on tumblr. I didn't start out on wattpad but ever since the plagiarism case (which I think was done at around April-May 2025?), I have created an account and cross-posted at both wattpad and ao3 to prevent any more of such cases (I kept the username and work title same with tumblr). It was very disheartening and demoralizing especially since the copied work gained some undeserved traction. Even more so after the fic theft refused to take it down when I reached out and simply blocked me. Then after their work got forcefully taken down by wattpad with a DMCA notice, followed by the user being taken down due to repeated violations, went on a whole tirade on my ask and then mocked the work.

But thank you so much 🐥 for dropping by, redownloading tumblr for the sake of it, and telling me this :) I truly appreciate it ☺️☺️☺️ Hope you'll shower the OG work here and perhaps, if you have time, my other work here some love as well if they tickle your fancy :3

Hi hi! Awww thank you so much for your kind words 🥹🥹🥹 Ooof I lovee this question hehe and of course I'd love to share. So the inspiration comes from a blend of the following:

Enhypen themselves (lol): Given-Taken was the start of it all then of course Dark Blood.

Movies: Crimson Peak (this is my mainnnnn -- the gothic ambience and the heavy, haunting atmosphere of the movie is essentially what I tried to replicate in Part 004); Interview with the Vampire (for obvious reasons); and The Invitation (not really a good movie tbh but yknow its got all the components -- mansion, aristocratic vampires masquerading as patrons, vampire hottie who is obsessed with fmc etc)

I actually was in the midst of writing another vampire series based on the move "Crimson Peak" when I was writing Dancing w the Devil (DwD) but finishing DwD took so much out of me so that has been on hold lol. Then there's also the recent plagiarism case which makes me all the more reluctant to post my writing for public consumption anymore :/ ((the unnecessary mental strain, spiral and work that gave me))

Exactly, as if them turning a blind eye after getting called out is not embarassing enough. Then suddenly pop up here being all angry for getting nuked and even insulting my fic lel ((i mean insulting mine is fine lol but stealing is never fine and I will never let that slide))

I heard :(( was thinking perhaps spam-commenting will pressure them to act ethically and take it down themselves but well now we know someone's got their ethics and morals already so deep in the muck. I've filed a DMCA report and managed to get it taken down phew. But anyways, other stolen works are still up and running though unless the other owners filed their own DMCA report as well.

As per the breadcrumbs I've ((pettily)) left across my posts, I will be taking an indefinite hiatus. Writing is still very much something I like to dabble in as an escape to the adulting that I do on the daily but I don't think publishing them here is a priority to me anymore. I am really thankful for the love that many has shown for me and my work. I've never seen myself as a good writer especially since English is not my first language. It all just started because I wanted to let my imagination breathe outside of the confines of my mind. I wasn’t even sure I was articulating and weaving my stories well, but the comments left on the first few parts of Dancing with the Devil ((and even Beyond 7 Minutes in Heaven)) were so reassuring and heartfelt. They made me feel like what I was doing was worth continuing and that maybe, just maybe, I was doing writing in a way that resonated—enough to linger in the minds of readers and leave a haunting impression (especially with Dancing with the Devil), which is something I had always hoped to achieve but never knew I could. So really, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Those who have left comments are really part of the reason why I have not completely abandoned Dancing with the Devil.

That aside, of course, as many tumblr writers have highlighted over and over again—for every appreciation we get, there are threefold as many passive readers and surface-level engagement. People who read and like but never comment. And honestly that kills one's motivation and faith in public and free sharing really. It's a free-rider problem, but for writing. The burn-out hits harder for me as I usually churn out long pieces that take months of writing and re-writing, all while managing my 9-5 daily desk job (and recently, academics).

So along with the ending of Dancing with the Devil, I too, am bidding Adieu to this space. Will I ever return—who knows? maybe after some time I'll forget about how bad the free-rider problem is and resume writing but for now, I'll stick to writing for myself and my peace.

Again, to those who have stuck around and have always took the time and energy to drop some kind words—no matter how short—about my story and my writing, you guys are the best. Know that in a world where it’s easy to overlook the effort that goes into creative work, you guys are doing something great, and I hope you guys will continue it for the other writers in this community. We need you.
