This is what hozier meant when he says he falls a little bit in love everyday with someone new
I once watched a girl in the produce aisle pick up a bushel of bananas that were precariously perched on the edge and move them farther back and under her breath she said âthere you go sweeties - that will be more comfortableâ before shuffling off and⌠I think about her often.
Silent lovers  is such a sweet way to put it.

i'm just here for a hot second to say that i'm SO glad that i stopped watching roswell new mexico because what the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
.
GUYS READ ALL OF THIS PLEASE PLEASE PLâ
i feel self concious leaving comments on fanfics cause i can never convey how much i loved a fic, i feel like i turn into a middle aged aunty when i leave comments "this was amazing, hope youre well" i mayaswell add "send my love to the family" at the end of them. do you still enjoy comments even if they sound supppperr generic and do you have advice for me to make my comments sound nicer?
writers always enjoy positive comments. itâs pretty much our life blood. if someone left âsend my love to the familyâ at the end of a comment on a fic iâd smile so goddamn hard. my advice is to think of one specific from the story and give it a shout out: the tone, the dialogue, the descriptions, the theme, anything. maybe quote a line you enjoyed. describe how it made you feel, even if that just means saying âthis made me happyâ or even âthis made me feel a lot.â i think when commenting we get caught up on trying to sound smart and while itâs always amazing to receive a long analytic comment, what fic writers really want is to know that people are enjoying what they spent time creating, so try not to overthink it. just say some words about why you enjoyed it or how it made you feel. ramble about a plot point. copy and paste your favourite part and just punctuate it with âTHIS!!â i promise promise promise weâre not reading your comment and judging you for not being more articulate.

big thank you to @sammc42 for beta reading this! :)

â Alex lay in bed, it had been at least a half hour and he was still wide awake. He jerked into consciousness after a bad dream, not anything new for him, but tonight was different. Tonight his dream wasnât about bombs or guns, war zones or injured innocent people. Having nightmares about his deployments was something he had been dealing with for years. It didnât make it any easier, but he learned methods to calm himself down and eventually could fall asleep again.Â
Tonight his dream was about losing Michael, a feeling he already knew all too well. He had faced this exact fear in real life only a few months ago bringing it far to close to home for comfort. He wasnât used to dreams about losing Michael, he didnât know how to handle something that felt so close to home. All he could seem to decide on was to just stay in bed and snuggle up to Michaelâs back. He pressed his face into those beautiful brown curls, inhaling the scent of Michaelâs shampoo and holding him while he tried to regain his breath.
Michael stirred, turning around to face Alex, still sound asleep. It had been four months since Michael first stayed the night at his place as his not-anymore-on-and-off-ex-something and it was still so overwhelming to Alex that this relationship was something he could have. That there was nobody interfering with his life choices and nobody holding them back.

big thank you to @the-middleish-ages and especially to @insidious-intent for beta reading and for the massive help and support! :)

â It was the little domestic things that turned his cabin into a home. It was having a second toothbrush in his bathroom. It was preparing more than one cup of coffee in the morning. It was cuddling on the sofa while watching a TV show before bed. It was having a second car parked in his driveway. It was hearing Michael talk to his siblings or Liz while Alex was taking a shower or getting ready. It was having more than his own clothes in his closet. But mostly it was Michaelâs presence, him just being there made coming home so easy.
They hadnât really discussed it, Michael stayed one night and then kept staying. At first it was a comfort thing - falling asleep next to each other and waking up to the warmth of the other person. Knowing that they were alright had been something both Alex and Michael needed desperately. But now they both came back home to the cabin.Â
