I hate that it’s a controversial opinion to say that trans representation should be in children’s media or that kids should be taught that trans people exist and that it’s ok. I think if you’re supportive of gay representation in cartoons, then you should be supportive of trans representation in cartoons. The topic of being transgender shouldn’t be a topic we tip toe around when we’re talking to kids.

Yes! The amount of times I’ve had to refer to media to explain concepts or as metaphors for my younger siblings....it’s so hard to explain being trans to little kids. I’m not evil or unsafe, I’m just their 18 year old brother, that shouldn’t be so taboo. Imagine how excited they’d be to find someone like their family member - or better yet themself - in media designed for them. 

if u think gay cis men wearing makeup and dresses to express themselves is revolutionary but gay trans men doing the exact same thing means that they’re not actually men, something went wrong in your big dumbass noggin
