sweet, sweet gayness

The sun was just peaking out from over the hills as he watched you sleep soundly. It had been a crazy past 48 hours and, although he was tired, he couldn’t stop his racing thoughts for long enough to let himself drift away as well.

Picking up your life into a suitcase and running away with the man you love should be easy, shouldn’t it? It should be easy to leave the people who only cause you pain behind.

When you asked him to take you anywhere, as long as it was away from the place you’d always known, he knew where to go. He had an uncle in Tacoma and he knew you’d love it there. Washington was home to his happiest childhood memories and he wanted nothing more than to see that joy that he had felt shinning on your face…

But the two of you were far from Washington and there was a long day of traveling ahead. There was far too much time for his anxiety to spiral about money, jobs, food. Part of him even missed his family, even though he knew they were destroying him. He wanted so badly to just be a boy again.

your body aches for the comforts of wrapping up in soft, knitted blankets and sharing warmth with your loved one after a long, draining day.

as the twilight gives way to an ink-coloured night, rain begins to pitter-patter on the rooftop.

you murmur counts to yourself, waiting. soon thereafter, slow-rolling thunder booms overhead.

the rain steadily picks up until it begins to pound on the rooftop. your love bursts through the bedroom door. ready with a kiss and a smile, fairy lights are dimmed, candles are lit, and you curl up in bed together.

as your hearts thrum to the rhythm of the pouring rain, the world surrounding you is reaching out; safe and warm as you drift to sleep in your loved ones arms.

you listen to the two of the most beautiful sounds nature has to offer; the sounds of the thunderstorm swirling around you, and the calm tide of your loved ones breathing.
