I have been informed that my family’s evacuation is expected to take place in August. However, the Irish Embassy and the Department of Justice require us to show sufficient funds in our bank account before family reunification visas can be issued for my wife and our four children.

Without these funds, we cannot complete the visa process, and my wife and children will remain in Gaza, where their lives are in constant danger from bombing, starvation, and the devastating conditions they face every day. Even worse, my elderly parents, siblings and their children entirely depend on funds I send them in the incredibly harsh conditions they live!

We lost our home and everything we had in this hellish war and all my wife and children have right now is a tent in the living hell of Gaza.

This part of my heart is now breaking. Amal, who's been on a poor diet because she can't afford better food, is unable to breastfeed baby Mina any longer, and is unable to afford enough formula to compensate, and now both mother and baby are weak and malnourished.

I held a diploma in international secretarial studies and was about to start a job to help support my family. But the war shattered not only our home but also my hopes and dreams. We’ve been displaced six times and now live in a tent that offers no shelter from the bitter cold or the ever-looming fear.

My young children face relentless hunger that weakens their fragile bodies and a cold that knows no mercy for their small hearts. Each day, their cries for warmth and food grow louder, and each day, I feel more helpless to provide them with even the basics of life💔😭😭

During this war, when my own education was interrupted and my university was destroyed, I chose to keep writing. I became a journalist because I believed that even in the darkest moments, people’s stories deserve to be heard.

I have written about the lives of women, families, journalists, civil defence workers, and ordinary people trying to survive in Gaza. Through my work with different media platforms, I have tried to share the reality of my people with the world and give a voice to those who are often unheard.

I am writing this post to VERIFY and highlight the campaign of my former student in Gaza, Huda Skaik.

I taught Huda at the Islamic University of Gaza, where she was one of the top students in her class. She always impressed me with her dedication, intelligence, and confidence, including her remarkable stage presence at many university events.

During the ongoing war, Huda lost her home and was displaced multiple times with her family. Despite the unimaginable circumstances around her, she chose to use her voice and her writing to stand with others. She worked as a journalist, documenting the experiences of people in Gaza and sharing stories that might otherwise remain unheard. She has written articles and produced videos reporting on the realities on the ground.

I was honoured to support Huda in gaining acceptance to the BA of Arts programme with a Minor in Journalism at Mary Immaculate College in Ireland, where she has been accepted as a fee-paying student.

Huda dreams of reaching safety, continuing her education, supporting her family, and using journalism to keep telling meaningful stories.

She has already dedicated her voice to others; now she needs our support to protect her own future.

Please Don't Let Me Lose My Family. August Is Our Last Chance

Thank you from the bottom of our broken hearts. For nearly three years, you have stood beside my family through this devastating war. Your kindness has helped me support them as they have endured life in tents, unimaginable hardship, and the constant fear of bombardment and death.

We will never forget your compassion or the hope you have given us.

Now, FINALLY!!!, There is HOPE ...

I have been informed that my family’s evacuation is expected to take place in August. However, the Irish Embassy and the Department of Justice require us to show sufficient funds in our bank account before family reunification visas can be issued for my wife and our four children.

Without these funds, we cannot complete the visa process, and my wife and children will remain in Gaza, where their lives are in constant danger from bombing, starvation, and the devastating conditions they face every day. Even worse, my elderly parents, siblings and their children entirely depend on funds I send them in the incredibly harsh conditions they live!

We lost our home and everything we had in this hellish war and all my wife and children have right now is a tent in the living hell of Gaza.

My Irish college is providing the necessary supporting documents, but we urgently need your help to meet the financial requirement for them to be able to start a new life in Ireland.
