A movie is made by hundreds of people working on thousands of scenes, projects will almost always have occasional issues keeping the most recent and up to date versions of a scene straight. And when scenes move from one executive branch to another it’s entirely possible for wires to get crossed and things to get shuffled. Especially on projects where things are being revised right down to the wire, where a scene might be sent back for urgent, last-minute retakes multiple times in one day.

The thing is, while Disney animators are obviously human, as coelasquid said, those scenes probably passed through tons of people’s hands. One person couldn’t have noticed those errors and said something, or fixed them? These specific errors are frankly way more noticeable than a candlestick changing length in the background, or a woman accidentally looping, again, in the background. These are errors on the main characters when they are your main point of focus. It’s not just some scenery shenanigans that you notice if you happen to be looking there when they happen. I’m not an animation expert but with the technology we have today, cranking out 3D animated movies like hotcakes, one would assume it would be easier to fix something so blatantly obvious.

These people are professionals. Human error taken into account, they are still professionals in a multi-billion dollar industry. They are still animators. They have been to school, they have probably been drilled for errors smaller than this in the past. With all of the people who worked on this film, and with the budget it had, even for all of two errors… it just seems lazy.

I’m not saying this from a standpoint of hating Frozen. I honestly haven’t even seen it because it didn’t interest me one bit. I have no opinion on it. I think if people like the film, that’s great! If people hate it, that’s fine too. The story, the characters, whatever else you can criticize or love it for put aside, it’s still sloppy on the part of the animation studio and I really hope Disney doesn’t let their quality decline any further in the future.

On one hand, it’s absolutely true that bullying needs to stop and you should never turn a blind eye to it.

However, it is also a terrible idea to just jump in the middle of a victim and a bully. There is no sense or reason to put yourself directly in the way of the danger. Bullies don’t care who else they hurt. If they’re already trying to harm one person, they’ll normally harm anybody else who gets into their way as well.

In this instance, the woman who intervenes is much smaller and appears much lighter than the ‘bully’. If this was a real life case, the bully probably would have threatened, intimidated, or assaulted this woman as well, and it is unlikely that she would have been able to put up much of a fight against him.

The best thing to do if you find yourself in a situation like this is to alert authorities. If you’re on campus, you either call the main office or run there to find somebody who can help. If it’s in day to day life, you call the police. These are people who can help stop the situation without you throwing yourself into harm’s way at the same time.

This video does promote a valuable message that you should never sit back and do nothing. However, it also gives the impression that one is meant to have no sense of self preservation and simply dive into the danger.

Just a reminder: for those of you who live in urban areas where the weather is getting at or below freezing, and there is a homeless population sleeping out-of-doors in inclement weather, these work great to keep people warm in emergency weather situations and i recommend handing them out to those in need. 

Each Sol or Space brand emergency blanket costs about $2 - $4 each and can be found at Army Navy Surplus and Sporting & Camping Goods stores.  I would suggest giving 2-3 to each person as though they are re-usable, they aren’t meant to last long periods of time.

Since they are uber lightweight they can be carried around in your purse, messenger bag or backpack as you walk/bus/bike around the city.

Given it is also the holidays, if you can afford to, add a few hand and toe warmers - you can get a Grabber brand “Big Pack” (8 pairs) for around $10.
