As I have mentioned before, I do not have the best diet in the world thanks to a lovely condition called ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder). Most of my meals are pretty much the bare minimum when it comes to nutrition, so I make these little powders to help make up for what I’m missing. (Unless it’s my precious cabbage soup… I’ll make sure to make a post about that in the future. x)

In the very beginning, I was only making Green Powder: a combination of dehydrated kale and cabbage.

Most days consisted of washing, chopping, and dehydrating these leafy veggies before crushing them with a mortar and pestle, running them through a hand-held grinder, and bottling them up.

I ended up falling in love with it. It gives my food a subtle boost of flavor without the god-awful texture that usually comes with greens.

Next, we tackled what I’ve come to dub Bloody Shots: mostly because of the color. I won’t sugarcoat it… my energy levels are actually terrible. But instead of caffeine (which makes my heart feel like it’s going to explode), I started taking B vitamin shots! We mix together ¼ teaspoon of liquid B12 (which also contains other B vitamins) with a little pomegranate blueberry juice. It tastes… well, like vitamins, but honestly? It’s delicious.

Lastly, and our most recent mission, Mushie Powder: a mixture of oyster and portobello mushrooms.

I’ll be straight… I hate the texture of mushrooms. But I love the taste, and I love the health benefits. So we put the mushrooms through the same process as the greens: dehydrated them, crushed them up, ground them into a fine powder, and bottled them. Honestly, by the end it smells heavenly.

And why the whimsical bottles?

Because bitches want to be whimsical while eating.

It’s me.

I’m going to be so for real: living with chronic illness(es) can be a fucking hassle. Most days, it probably doesn’t matter much until a flare-up happens.

And brother… oh boy.

I am having a FLARE UP.

This is like the third or fourth day that I’ve had to stay horizontal at all times just to feel any semblance of normality. Every time I’m vertical (standing or even just sitting up) I’m breathing hard like I just ran five whole miles, and I get so lightheaded, like when you’re quickly dropping in altitude and there’s TV static in your noggin.

And let’s not forget the quick “oh shit, how’d I get into this dark tunnel?” moment when you stand up just a little too fast and you’re stuck there rebooting, waiting for your vision to come back.

Yeah. I’m fuckin’ losing it.

I’ve got so much shit I need and want to do, and yet here I am, stuck in my damn bed. Not to mention the times when the floor becomes my best friend and a stool in the kitchen turns into my personal throne so I can cook.

Like, I am SO READY for this flare-up to be over, especially with July coming up so fast and me having so many things I need to do that month. 😀
