progesterone tracker is here.
oestrogen tracker is here.
testosterone tracker is here.
if you experience any disability or neurodivergency please fill out this form. it is equally important to me to have data that says progesterone doesn't affect autism or testosterone doesn't make you hard of hearing or whatever, as it is to document changes. so if you have any health condition. please fill it out. even if it to say "no change". i am begging you all.
and if you can't. please. please do reblog. i need this to be as big as humanly possible. it is the best way forwards to inform decisions.

[girl who has never smoked before voice] i could really go for a cigarette. the only thing that could make this moment better is tar in my lungs
same... I love the idea of smoking, I just really hate cigarettes unfortunately
One of the hardest challenges in writing is trying to balance the message with the story.
Not all stories have an intentional moral, but all stories have messages. They take place in a world that isn't the real world, but how you see the world, meaning you can't escape your own subjectivity slipping in. If someone with a very different worldview reads it, they'll find it off-putting and call it woke or problematic or whatever word they use for "stuff with messages I don't like." That's a feature; there's no helping it. Trying to filter out all message entirely will ruin the work.
So it's better to be conscious about the messages in the book to make sure they're what you want. At the same time, you can also ruin a book by putting too much message in, or putting it in awkwardly.
Consider The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe:
But as soon as she reached it she heard steps in the passage outside, and then there was nothing for it but to jump into the wardrobe and hold the door closed behind her. She did not shut it properly because she knew that it is very silly to shut oneself into a wardrobe, even if it is not a magic one.
This is a fine thing to do in a kids' book, but adult readers will be annoyed by it. They don't need to be told not to try things at home. If you stop the story dead to say "remember, they didn't use a condom because it was 1700, but in real life you always should!" the reader is just gonna be pissed off that you thought it needed to be said.
Another way of being preachy is to make all main characters role models, and everything they say is actually your point of view. If Doctor McCoy pointedly says "and of course, I would never drink alcohol to excess!" you will get readers going "he would not fucking say that" because he wouldn't. You have failed to make the character a character, in favor of making the character your mouthpiece.
The frustrating thing here is that enough readers are bad enough at reading that they will sometimes cancel you for having characters who are characters instead of message mouthpieces. All I can say is, you can't write for them, because if you do, you'll lose all the actually thoughtful readers who want to see unique, flawed people inhabiting your world.
My preferred way to put message in is by letting it shape the plot. I don't say putting it into the plot. It goes there automatically when you write a story that takes place in the world as you perceive it. For instance, if you genuinely believe that kindness can change the world, you're likely to write stories where people being kind makes a big difference. Project Hail Mary was meant to be "apolitical," and yet you can see it takes place in a world where humanity working together can save the day. Another author might have written about nations squabbling over the details until the sun went out, because they see the world more pessimistically.
You can screw this one up when you don't think things through, or sometimes when you have subconscious beliefs you haven't examined, or old beliefs you don't endorse anymore. Or sometimes it's just that the plot gets you into a corner, or you're mimicking other books in the genre. For example, maybe you don't believe torture works, but you write a scene where torture produces useful intelligence, just because that happens a lot in other books. Or you believe trans identities are valid but you made a book where magic is heavily determined by assigned sex, because you forgot to think about what trans people might do in this universe.
This is where sensitivity readers are helpful. Not to just point and say you're being problematic, but to ask, "Hey, does this actually represent your worldview, or did it blunder in by accident?" Betas and critique partners are also helpful in catching ways you undermine your intended message with other messages.
Sometimes people will simply misunderstand, because your message is subtle. It is really up to you how to calibrate it. There is no amount of obviousness that can prevent anyone from an uncharitable reading; likewise there's no amount of subtlety that won't stop people who don't like the message from calling it preachy. So try to write a good book, and set the "message meter" where you want. Consider books you have really enjoyed with good messages, and how subtle or unsubtle they were.
I was thinking
If a love story doesnβt have a dancing scene that feels like braving the jump off a cliff while injured and huntedβ¦ is it really a love story?
Or maybe thatβs just me idk
I used to think this was such a clichΓ©, but after writing my first dancing scene... I get it
so many people ive known have pushed themselves to burnout trying to deny their disabled reality, skipping accommodations, skipping rests etc. and the world convinces them that the solution to their burnout is to push even harder. itβs a huge tragedy. i know social pressures make it tough but i want more disabled people to make things easier for themselves where possible, to opt out of things that harm them when possible, to quit while theyβre ahead. be that person today! protect yourself where you can! take micro breaks while doing your hobby. get that shower chair. sit to brush your teeth. lie down in the middle of the day, even if only for 5 mins. these things add up and itβs so worth it.
happy disability pride month! ACCOMMODATE YOURSELF TODAY!
Wayfarers art! Been deep in the hyperfixation recently
Starting with Roveg eating Ouloo's cakes
Next we have the breakfast parcel that he sends to Speaker in an unmistakably Quelin drone
Next we have Ouloo and Tupo sitting together at the leaving party before our travelers depart, Tupo still recovering from having been in olotohen
(I hc Tupo as blue)
Next we have the argument in the garden, when Roveg is drunk and they accidentally start discussing the Rosk/Aeluon border
Pei is super sparkly...and sad. They're all sad.
And finally we have Tracker in her crystal room!
This piece features colour-changing paint, which is hard to capture
I hope you like them <3
Wowwww I love them all sooo much!!! My favourite is probably the breakfast parcle, it's so pretty and I love your handwriting β€οΈ
There are so many cool details like Peis glitter scales :) also you managed to make Roveg look quite intimidating!

look buddy. what you dont understand is that all containers are microwavable if you're pure of heart
In a different world, we got a Once Upon A Time beach episode. I would have stuck it in somewhere towards the end of the third season. Just Regina with that little frown line between her eyes and sand in unmentionable places, sitting down on a tacky, brightly colored towel smack-dab between the Charmings, both high on love and life, with one of their damn adorable babies in her lap, watching Henry and Emma build a sand castle while most of the recurring cast members frolic around them, unable to not realize the absurdity of the moment, seeing as she wanted them all miserable and/or dead just like, two season ago. When Belle drags a skulking Rumple past her, and she sees the pair of neon yellow swimming trunks he's wearing, she has to close her eyes and lie down under an umbrella for a while.
look at the stars tonight if you can. we are very small and the universe is very big and somehow that is both terrifying and weirdly comforting
Also, learn a few constellations! It's so cool to look at the sky and see Cassiopeia or Orion for example (both are very easy to find)! Where I live you can only see Orion during from October to April and I'm already looking forward to his return in autumn :) It makes the world a little more beautiful, at least for me.
Regina: Emma and I are dating now. Zelena: Yeah I've known that for a while now. Regina: We just started. Zelena: Then what the fuck were you doing before that?
MADAM MAYORRRRR

you're supposed to be a multi-season slowburn why are you SPEEDRUNNING THIS?
I saw a few edits of them before watching OUAT and thought I would be shipping them soo hard, but it turned out all the scenes were from exactly ONE episode in season 1 π₯²
