If someone doesn’t treat you with respect, cut them out of your life.

If someone constantly judges you, puts you down, or hurts your feelings (even indirectly), cut them out of your life.

If someone takes advantage of your generosity, and gives nothing in return, cut them out of your life.

If someone abandons you when you need them, and conveniently comes back when they need something, cut them out of your life.

If someone appears bitter, jealous or resentful of your achievements, and/or other friendships, definitely cut them out of your life.

And whatever you do, don’t feel bad about it!

A good friend/partner, in a healthy relationship will:

Make you feel good about yourself.

Be kind, and respectful, without expecting anything in return.

Respect your boundaries.

Support and trust you, without judgement.

Stick around when times get tough.

There are 7,400,000,000 people in the world. You are not confined to certain friendships, or relationships, just because you went to the same school, or college, or worked together, or have known each other for x amount of time. Don’t settle in toxic relationships, for the sake of convenience! You don’t owe anyone, anything. Sometimes you have to go out of your way, and work harder, to find the right people for you. It may take more effort, but when you find them, I promise you, it will be worth it.

You only get one life. You are only here for a short amount of time. Don’t waste it on people who you know, deep down, are wrong for you.
