I just want to say: it really sucks when you’re so busy doing things like school and work and a thesis that you can’t attend social events – even really big, important ones.

And then when you can’t go to those events, it sucks when you feel guilty and lazy and like you’re a terrible person, even though the reason you can’t go is because you are trying to be responsible and take care of yourself and get all your shit done.

It sucks that self-care is seen as selfish, and it sucks that when you feel selfish, you just become even more anxious than you were in the first place.

I wish people could just understand this.
