A girl and her gem
On her way down a gray road, she stumbled across the most brilliant gem. One with such a gleam it would bring tears of joy to any who glanced its way. She held tightly to it, hoping her world would forever stay the color it provided. But the closer she held it, the more dim it became.
Storms started to brew in the distance, but she paid no mind. The ground beneath her began to crack, but she took a small step forward. Over and over this loop continued, until her steps were no longer large enough and the storm raged directly above her head.
Even her plea for tranquility could no longer be heard. Her gem had lost all its light and abandoned her. She fell into despair and self-destruction as the ground behind her crumbled. She watched the gem shatter piece by piece until she hit rock bottom.
As she lay within the deep, dark pit she wondered, if she dug further would she reach another side? Another world like the one she lost? Could she be fulfilled again?
In her search to uncover what awaited her next, she noticed her broken gem pieces began to shimmer again. From the top of the pit, it reached out to her. Her hope for a beautiful world became obtainable once again. But it couldn't carry all the strain she obtained from the depths. It let her go.
She was descending again. But this time, she threw her nails deep into the walls of the pit, determined not to fall to the bottom again. Determined to make it back to her gem, no matter how long or difficult her climb became.
