If Audrey Hepburn's leading men were her age while filming together:
Humphrey Bogart aged 25 in Sabrina (1954) - actual age 55.
Gary Cooper aged 28 in Love in the Afternoon (1957) - actual age 56.
Fred Astaire aged 28 in Funny Face (1957) - actual age 58.
Cary Grant aged 33 in Charade (1963) - actual age 59.
Don't get me wrong. I love all these men, but some of the age differences were a literal big stretch.
Also some of these also would have been super hot.

Out of genuine curiosity, has Kitty ever been shown to have even the remotest interest in any sport EVER? (X-Men baseball games notwithstanding)

Finally got around to making my 3D It's a Wonderful Life decor (and make use of some random moon lamp I've had for a while). George Bailey lassos moon.
My humble twobats edit of the phenomenal art on the left of Ty Templeton (pencils), Rick Burchett (inks), and Linda Medley (colors) from Batman & Robin Adventures Vol. 1 #2 (1995) by Paul Dini.
What is subtext?
Always love me a subtle art history reference, especially when it cleverly highlights thematic parallels.
Jinu's demon eye slip in KPDH:
The Fallen Angel (1847) by Alexandre Cabanel, depicting the Devil after his fall from Heaven.
My gay version of this turn of the century Halloween postcard illustrating the myth of holding a candle in front of a mirror on Halloween and seeing your future husband appear in the reflection.

@hotvintagepoll thoughts?
@nitrateglow I just pulled up the scene where the diagetic sound is used subtly and adroitly (the dishes rattling alerting her that Roat is right there). My only small quibble is that the otherwise excellent Mancini score almost drowns it out.
"At the climax of the film, the music dramatically drowns out all diegetic sound. In this condition, and given the almost total darkness on screen, it becomes difficult to discern what’s happening. Through her heightened proprioception and spatialisation of the apartment, and as she takes away the power of sight on which her attacker depends, Susy turns her blindness to strategic advantage.
And with the loss of diegetic sound, we are effectively deprived of the privileged perspectivisation that has allowed Susy to discern the threat and assert a position of self-defence. Thus it is not only Roat who is overmatched – we too have depended on vision and diegetic sound to apprehend the narrative. In the final darkness and cacophony, we experience not Susy’s disability but Roat’s."
-- David Cosper, "Through Susy' Eyes: Sight, Sound, and Subjectivity in Henry Mancini's Wait Until Dark," Music, Sound, and the Moving Image Volume 17, Number 2, p. 154
@nitrateglow something I caught on a rewatch on a larger screen last year was a very subtle use of diagetic sound used at the climax when she's trapped behind the fridge door, and Roat is slowly approaching her. The small pantry cabinet that is positioned by the fridge has ceramic mugs hanging on it.
As Roat stumbles into the cabinet, the rattling of these ceramic mugs alerts Suzy to exactly where Roat is, which prompts her to start trying to unplug the fridge light.
Throughout the film, Suzy's intimate knowledge of her basement apartment and all of its furnishings has been well-established. She first realizes something is off (but first attributes it to Gloria) when a chair is out of place. And then she registers the quiet sound of the blinds being fiddled with by multiple characters, etc. This woman has worked hard to be self-sufficient in her living space, and it ends up saving her life.
She probably interacts with these ceramic mugs on a daily basis, and the sound of them clinking as Roat stumbles into the cabinet is such an adroit example of how she weaponizes her awareness of her surroundings to survive.

This paints such a beautiful picture
I feel soooooooooooooooooo seen. You are in fact competing with my peace and thriving so you had better come seriously impressive.
This guy is transphobic. I was delighted by this and went to his IG, eros2tp, and one of the first goddamn reels I watch is from a few weeks ago where he tears into a bearded couple he refers to as two men celebrating a positive pregnancy test. Here is his entire rant that he says is "just a joke" and justifies his anti-trans rhetoric with, "WE ARE ALL ALLOWED TO JOKE ABOUT EVERY TOPIC." He even pats himself on the back for taking "risks with this one."
"I'm sorry, but, uh, who the fuck got pregnant? He's holding the positive pregnancy test like it was the season finale of their fertility arc, and they are standing there shocked, emotional, and glowing like the next step is a baby shower at IKEA. Guys, there is no uterus here. There is no egg. There is only confusion and probably a strong scent of vanilla Chai bodywash.
Like, honestly, congratulations on your emotional pregnancy, I guess. What are you expecting a child, a spirit baby, a metaphysical rent increase? This is not pregnancy; this is a marketing stunt. This is what happens when two men love each other so much that they gaslight a pregnancy test into giving them a storyline.
Biology is canceled. Logic is deleted. Gravity is optional. But the comments. The comment, 'this is so beautiful; normalize this.' Normalize what? False positives and shared delusions? The immaculate conception of Carl and Steve?
What are we doing? Next week I will see a toaster identifying as a single mom, and you will all be like, 'yes, queen, slay motherhood!'
Honestly, this is not progressive. This is theatre. Not even good theatre. This is like off-brand Glee meets a Buzzfeed dream journal.
And don't get me wrong. I'm not mad. I'm just emotionally pregnant with secondhand embarrassment."
