Charade by Sammy Kaye and His Orchestra debuted Apr 64 and peaked at number 36.
Sam was born in Rocky River, Ohio, and charted 35 times from 1941 to this, his final chart entry. He had four number ones, 1941-50: Daddy, Chickery Chick, I'm a Big Girl Now, and Harbor Lights.
Henry Mancini wrote the music and lyrics, and he also charted with Charade in 1964, also peaking at number 36. Andy Williams peaked at number 100 with his 1964 vocal version. Henry and Andy didn't swing like Sammy.
