We briefly interrupt your regularly scheduled incorrect quotes to make a quick announcement. In case any of our followers were unaware, we would like to make it known that Michael Rapaport (Don Self), the patron saint of this blog, blessed this blog the day he tweeted this. 

Of course he would. It’s Robert Knepper, a hero to everyone. Any Batman movie with him as The Joker would be spectacular, because he is the most focused and talented actor a production could ever hope for, and the data strongly suggest that close proximity to such greatness has a positive effect on group performance. 

Actually, the administration team here has not seen Suicide Squad, so we can only objectively comment that, yes, it is highly, highly unlikely that anyone could receive any more ire than Jared Leto has for their Joker portrayal. We cannot opine about the performance itself. 

We know a lot of fans think Robert should play that role. We’ve seen this suggestion over and over again, we’ve seen Photoshops of him as the Joker, fan art of him as the Joker, and so on, and yes, we agree, he would be fantastic. Of course he would be. That said… it is the opinion of this administrator that it would overall be a poor idea. The market is rather saturated with Jokers. We’d hate to have Robert step into the role, and then have general audiences just get fatigued by it, the way a lot of casual fans/general audiences were with all the various Spider-Men. We don’t want that for Robert. 

Here’s what hasn’t been done yet. Try this on for size. Here’s where we brazenly seize the opportunity to further our cause for Robert Knepper as Hondo Ohnaka of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, with our own shitty Photoshop. You know you want to see him as a hilarious, scoundrel pirate with a not-so-secret heart of gold and a monkey-lizard. You know you do. THIS IS OUTSIDE-THE-BOX THINKING, PEOPLE. AND A GOOD IDEA. We swear. As IPBQ Admin #1 said several weeks ago, “Robert already has so much practice playing terrible characters and then acting so offended when people call him out on it.” That’s Hondo. That’s Hondo. 

Let’s get this campaign started, people. We want petitions, fan art, and more shitty Photoshops! (*whisper* Lucasfilm: this is a genuinely solid idea.) 

Did you even realize what a can of worms this ask would be?! Did you?! We’re sorry. Sort of. You can’t just say “Robert Knepper” at us and expect us to stay calm. In the interest of full disclosure, you should know that there are a lot of feelings and emotions about Robert around here, and that @fuckyeahrobertknepper is a partly-owned subsidiary of @incorrectprisonbreakquotes. We encourage you to go take a look there for all of your Robert needs if you haven’t already. They agitate quite a bit about him over there.
