Hi, I’ve been following the monthly updates and the March roundup, and I really appreciate how open the team is about the process. I’m especially attached to Cirrus and Keir, and their routes were the main reason I purchased Obscura. Since you mentioned Cirrus’ Chapter Three opening being outlined and exciting plans for Keir, I was wondering if you have a general sense of when their routes might be picked up again in the Chapter Three cycle. I’m not asking for spoilers or dates, just curious. TY
No problem! At the moment, Tobi is going full steam ahead with Cirrus, and I'm doing a little bit of Keir's skeleton here and there, but primarily focusing on Oleander's route*. I can't really say for sure what's going to happen next, given Tobi is doing some very Exciting but Time-Consuming real life stuff and I'm in the academia mines again (and Cajsa and Mugi are also very busy! Something about Spring gets us all tied up in IRL obligations). But if I had to guess (this is not official!! If I spot anyone telling folks this is official I will stop speculating like this!!!!) based on how things are going at the moment, Oleander or Cirrus will arrive first depending on who escapes Schedule Hell earlier, with the other following, and probably then Keir, with Francesco finishing off the game with a splash!
I can't offer any timeframes, but there are some signs you can look out for in our updates that a chapter is getting closer to release: Cajsa is adding ambiance and music to the chapter is a good first sign, and a call for a beta test or heads up that a call is coming means we're very close to release, provided the test goes well.
*Technically speaking my full attention is on my magister (think like a half-Master degree), but Oleander is where my OBSCURA attention is going.
Personal Update from the Owner of Duck Prints Press
Hey everyone! I’m Claire (aka @unforth , aka Nina Waters) and I wanted to let you all know that I am having surgery on July 1st. It’s a good thing, and it’s surgery I both need and want – while it is because a health issue was found, it’s also gender-affirming for me.
As a result of this surgery, I will not be working at all on July 1st or 2nd, and I will be working as little as possible through July 7th. I expect to then be on a light schedule to the extent possible (which isn’t a very big extent, as I will be attending Readercon in Massachusetts from the 9th to the 12th).
During this time, I would appreciate everyone’s patience, as I will be much slower to reply to communication, delayed on fulfilling physical orders from our webstore, and generally much less available than I usually am.

This community is all so so talented and we are ever grateful to every artist, writer, and maker for sharing their talent with the community and letting us see what they create.
We are also so grateful to Apokuna and Cherrifire for creating, telling and sharing the stories that they do, allowing us as a community to be able to create projects inspired by theirs.
Our rough draft of a timeline would be to have organization (applications/emails/ect) from June to late July, creation to from late July to early October and the finished product to come out around November/December.
This is our first interest check, and from this information we'd be able to put together a specific schedule based on approximately how many people respond. The form will run for 1 week, responses will not be accepted after June 4th, 2026.

Red: Wings (they extend very far down her back- it is not a single point of attachment, but a plane). She does want me to note that this would require some way to handle clothing, however, and that her second choice is a near-tie between tail and horns. Horns seem to be slightly higher preference than tail, but I have seen that fluctuate before.
Blue: Tail. Instant choice, and has been consistent on it for years.
Echo: Doll joints or similar is my practical answer; some form of seam that makes my body more inorganic. That said, my actual answer would be to remove my face and leave the area smooth (mouth hole permissible, but no nose or eyes) provided that I had accomodations and/or a replacement for eye vision. I do not want to have a face.
Hawthorne: Claws. I expected tail or ears, so this is a surprise to me. If I am understanding them correctly, it is specifically retractable claws on hands and non-retractable on feet. If they are allowed to push the bounds of the question, they would also alter the way our body stands to be somewhere between true digitigrade and plantigrade, but they are locking claws in as their final answer.
Gwen: Has repeatedly expressed that she would rather not have a body at all, and she keeps trying to dodge the question. If I had to guess, however, she would probably enjoy having hooves instead of feet (and her reaction in the back confirms that probably is her answer).
