A Plague Tale Requiem Nominated!!

A Plague Tale Requiem has been nominated for 5 Awards for The Game Awards 2022. This is a big achievement for a smaller game to be recognised and up there with the big players. It’s nominated for: Best narrative Best score and music Best performance - Charlotte Mcburney Best action/adventure and of course the big one GAME OF THE YEAR It’s up there with the giants and we clearly know who might be getting most of the awards but being nominated means so much for the fans and of course Asobo studio, it might have a chance at some of the smaller awards most likely best score and performance. So fingers crossed everyone

Plague Tale Requiem Gameplay Analysis

So after watching the new gameplay trailer about 100 times I’ve tried to pick out what new features/mechanics are going to be in the game Sorry for the low quality gifs this was done very quickly

Crossbow Of course the most noticeable one is the inclusion of a crossbow. It appears to be an alternative ranged option. I don't know if it will be effective on helmeted or heavy armour enemies so we will need more information on just how effective it is and what scenarios it will be used for. Can it be upgraded? What is it’s strength and weaknesses compared to the sling?

Melee stealth / Knife Amicia seems to have a knife or dagger of some sort to assassinate enemies. It may or may not replace the Somnum which uses a lot of crafting materials. I doubt Amicia will actually be going head to head with guards but it maybe help with active combat encounters. The knife may also be a tool for puzzles or traversal.

Sling melee and stealth We can see Amicia using the sling to attack an enemy by trying to get them off balance similar to a sweep attack as well as a swing to the head. It seems to be used as a sneak attack and works against helmeted enemies. And she is using the sling to choke out an enemy. It possibly is an assassination move but would be cool as some sort of finisher. This shows she has unlocked the choke ability lol.

Sneaking/hiding/crawling under objects We can see Amicia and Hugo hinding under this cart thing. This gives the player more stealth options and ideally traversal as well would be nice.
