Haru stares at Sousuke, making sure Sousuke understands how ridiculous his request is, before hitching his messenger bag higher and walking away.

Sousuke idles the car engine, showcasing the perfect mastery of his early twenties crisis as he follows Haru. “Nanase-”, he growls, like the three year old he actually is, and the shades do little to hide his annoyance.

Haru stops and blinks slowly. "Yamazaki." He replies, and he can't help the little twitch at the edge of his mouth when Sousuke huffs at him.

"Will you please get into the car?"

In lieu of replying, Haru opens the car door, takes a seat and waits.

"Nanase," Sousuke says, exasperated, rewarding Haru's patience and he adjusts Haru's seat for Haru's maximum comfort, close enough for Sousuke's cologne to surround him, a clean sharp scent that carries a bit of salt. Once Sousuke is satisfied, he buckles Haru in, the back of his knuckles skimming across Haru's chest. "Honestly."

"Are we heading to a love hotel?" Haru enquires - but he knows that Sousuke is too well dressed for a tryst. "Or will you be letting me fuck you in the car?"

"NO!" Sousuke looks scandalized, the tip of his ears turning red- until now it's still so easy to rile him up. "What the fuck Nanase?"

Haru's huff of disappointment is only half faked.

"No." Attempting a semblance of calm, Sousuke keeps his gaze on the road. "We're going on a date."

"... You should stop taking advice from Rin." Haru replies, feeling irritated that Sousuke feels a need to deviate from their routine.

"... It wasn't Rin. Makoto said we've been... Going to each other's apartment too much. Rin agreed." There's a flush spreading across his cheekbones and Haru can feel an answering heat in his own. In other words, they've been fucking too much, but it's been a year, and he's never felt the slightest cooling of how much he wants Sousuke. Judging from the lingering bruises on his hips, it's not one sided at all.

He opts for silence, listening to the rumble of Sousuke's engine. They don't exactly date, Haru dislikes going out, while Sousuke just enjoys Haru's company and everything happens to align by having dinner at home and then just hanging out or having sex, sometimes just sleeping because Sousuke gets drowsy after dinner.

"We're here." Sousuke says and Haru startles awake. Sousuke's leaning against his steering wheel and his sunglasses are perched in his hair. His scrutiny makes Haru conscious, makes him squirm, because Sousuke looks as though he's a heartbeat away from kissing Haru and Haru wants that too-

Sousuke wrenches his gaze away and angrily gets out of the car. "We're not having sex in the car Nanase." Haru does the same, albeit with more grace.

"Not today," Haru replies and enjoys the way Sousuke trips over his two left feet.

It's the aquarium.

Sousuke brought him to the aquarium. When he turns to look at Sousuke, Sousuke wears that look again, the one he always wears when Haru is inside him, somewhat tender and vulnerable, a soft curve to his mouth. That's Haru's smile, Sousuke doesn't smile at anyone that way, Haru knows this, has tried to replicate it, with pencil and paper but fails because nothing can compare to the real thing.

They stand in the moving tunnel, and light dapples with the movement of the water around them, the only way it can be better would be if Sousuke was in the water with him, but this, this is good as well. Sunlight glints off the bright scales of the fish, and they are splashes of colour darting around. Sousuke holds Haru close silently, wrapping an arm around Haru's waist.

Haru leans against Sousuke's shoulder, the good one - and thinks about how it's the temperature of the ocean on a sunny day.

Embraced by this warmth, Haru can sink into it forever, falling through the depths, the sensation of peace and serenity flooding his soul. The sound of water in his ears.

The gentle lull would probably feel like the rise and fall of Sousuke's breath.
