a place for my stuff

My new Assistant Principal was impressed that I control over 100 2nd graders and then 100 3rd graders to line up and get ready for lunch recess by myself... I was like, "Girl, if there's one thing I excel at it's commanding an audience!!!" It never even occurred to me to need another adult to organize a grade level.

I'm watching the Denver Broncos game and I forgot it was in Atlanta and they scanned the stands with a lot of empty seats. I was like, "There's no way a game wouldn't be sold out at Mile High." Then remembered it was Atlanta, because there's NO WAY a game wouldn't be sold out at Mile High!

A thing about me is that baseball players walking out of a corn field get a me every time!!!😭

I set my alarm for a half an hour earlier with the plan to do a yoga practice. But sometimes I don't feel like doing morning yoga. But there's something to be said about just getting up early, doing a little stretch, and not rushing right into getting ready. Right now I'm sitting on the couch, with all the windows open, enjoying the morning air, watching local news, and drinking my morning water. In 15 minutes, my 'get ready' alarm will go off, but I'll already be regulated. We'll see how this goes in the depths of winter, when I just want to hibernate... but for now it's really nice.

It's raining over the mountains, so I went onto the porch to smell the rain and I can smell the rain, but also I just put on a bunch of lavender-vanilla lotion, so it smelled the rain via Bath and Body Works.

I wasn't that tired yesterday but today I had to help 2nd graders get onto computers and now I'm beat!

Today was the first day of school and I walked into many classrooms to say hi and lend a hand, and not even once did I have even a little remorse about leaving the classroom. I was just like, "don't miss that", "glad I don't have to do that anymore," "ooh, not missing that". Then I went back to my cool, good smelling room, lit only by natural light, put on some music, sipped my ice water, created a schedule, and recorded some data. Fabulous day!!!

Oh, your 2 and 1/2 year old can identify the color blue? Cool. My 2 and 1/2 year old niece can identify the members of Blink-182...🤷‍♀️

Me today: buying fall clothes will not make fall appear faster. I don't need new clothes.

I had such a great week at work. I led a bunch of professional development... turns out that I LOVE telling other teachers what to do and how to do it! 😆
