so much modern comics feel like ‘everything is one-liners and quips yet nothing is actually funny’, ‘look at this heartfelt moment but it means nothing in the context and we ripped it from a comic that came out in the 90s’, ‘no one has interior thoughts and everything feels shallow’, ‘dialogue that reads like a tumblr post’
