oh, hello. i didn't see you there

allow me to introduce myself. i'm a writer who goes by the pen name August Wright (millennial-gen Z borderline, pronouns are whatever you want them to be darling, Floridian). i probably would have been on tumblr all the way back in 2012 if i wasn't so obstinately techphobic growing up, but hey, we're here now aren't we?

that being said, i feel like you were given a little too much of an opportunity to look cool in this episode. what ever happened to "i'll have no one singing songs of how brave you died"?

it's fun to see Daeron walk into a different room from Ormund and immediately reveal that he has a personality

i do love that Rhaenyra sent assassins into Tumbleton and at some point in that process specified that they should smell bad

damn Jayne Arryn really just fucking slapped her

the scenes between Alyn and Baela are kind of highlighting for me the differences between Alyn's characterization in the book and show, something i haven't thought much about until now because Alyn doesn't do much in the book until the Dance is over. but in the book, Alyn is much more of a dashing rogue adventurer type, always pushing boundaries and seeking thrills, and Baela marrying him is seen as an act of rebellion on her part

Daemon has now decided to police King's Landing himself. surely this can't go wrong

i could go on for quite a while giving my thoughts on Ulf, but suffice to say i have so much sympathy for this man even knowing what's eventually going to happen

and then there's Hugh who's going through it in an entirely different way. maybe you should have just listened to your wife from the beginning, my guy

Alys Rivers has suddenly become interesting to me again. she lost me for a bit with the whole "i want Harrenhal" thing but i'm fully back, do your bloodmagic thing

love to see my girl Dreamfyre Rhaena get mentioned. truly she was Rhaenyra before Rhaenyra

like father like daughter (getting cut on the iron throne, symbolizing an inability to rule)

jesus christ Rhaenyra you can't send Alicent out to kill her own son what the hell

Rhaenyra finds out Helaena is a dreamer and immediately goes "okay, go kill your son and i'll take care of Helaena while you're gone"
