henry: the single most paladin-coded character i have ever seen in my LIFE. i have seen actual dnd paladins less paladin-coded than henry of skalitz. duty-bound? check. fiercely protective of his loved ones, to the point of being self-sacrificial? check. helps people just because he can and it's The Right Thing To Do? check. determined to be self-sufficient and able to hold his own in combat without help? check. oath of vengeance is almost too obvious but it makes perfect sense - the tenets of vengeance are literally just henry's actual ideals. i did consider ranger for a bit, namely because he does a lot of fuckin around in the woods and the idea of henry's favored foe being "2 specific dudes and all cumans" was really funny to me, but paladin makes more sense imo. ranger could give him animal companions, but he can just use find steed for pebbles, and he's definitely got more charisma than wisdom.
