so yes, i am going to post again about some of the points i made in the long theory posts i made a while back eventually, but i'm going to focus on proving only the things i need to prove and not just go on about everything i feel like i can and that i am clearly wrong about
and i'll try to stick to objective facts and speculation about the show as i think i got a bit carried away with the weird sleep schedule and getting too excited about figuring out that adam will most probably die etc.
also because i thought i discovered 'the big secret' but i don't think the whole podcast is going to be about one big thing, just a lot of different things that can be figured out separately but also connect with each other

stuff i want to focus on in this post - adam snapping
but, specifically in this post i wanted to talk about why adam snapping is likely (no matter what reasons for that may be - i think there may be more than one)
i've re-read the first arcana recently and i've been thinking what it means when it comes to adam's and amy's powers
so my theory is this: amy is not getting stronger as in she can do more with her powers now. she is gaining more control over her powers
as she says in ep6:
so if we look at the reverse of this, if you don't use your harbinger powers enough you are risking not having enough control over them, but letting them control you
and when it comes to arcana 1 which is a report on adam's powers:
so like, that doesn't look very safe
especially if adam were to snap and go full on carrie
and i know, it's not advisable to draw parallels between other pieces of media not directly connected with the podcast, as you can go crazy with it. i bet if i tried hard enough i could make parallels with winnie the pooh or whatever
but, i think carrie is a fictional character famous enough to draw parallels with
so one of the more obvious ones: Carrie White - Adam Blackwell
and they do both have telekinetic powers, and carrie snaps, so...
the parallels could be made with Amy as well, as Carrie is often called a witch (from what i could find, i mostly know the musical so feel free to correct me)
i am a fan of the musical adaptation, but don't take it too seriously as it is definitely less popular then the book
i must talk about the parallels as they have haunted me for weeks though
i think the song In does fit adam a lot (and also amy but i think there's more adam-related stuff), whereas Carrie - amy
especially since Carrie is being called Scary White in it (Silver Witch)
so in light of the carrie parallels (even if we just look at the names, the musical is a bit of a stretch tbf) i think it's safe to say that adam snapping is not unlikely
and if he does snap, well (ep5):
so i do stand by my theory that adam will get shot and die (rip adam)
which in light of the last episode (15) could be devastating enough to challenge all the things that happened already
because i think i saw it mentioned somewhere, probably on tumblr that you can make killing off a character even more tragic if, well:
and i think this would haunt us even more if adam were to be killed after saying things like that.
as for the reasons why adam might snap, there's ofc one other thing not related with amy i will post about later
coming back to the musical though that's one bit from the song In (the one that makes me think about adam):

but keep in mind that's just a musical that could have no connection with this podcast, but well considering this even if those parallels are completely unintentional (ep1):
adam making someone crawl out of their skin is not that unlikely

and as to who might loose their skin, this is not really based on any serious consideration but why not, well - claudia skinner (blame me using the search function to look for the word skin in the transcripts)
especially since it seems like she thinks adam is not solely responsible for boston and can be trusted
so i'm thinking she might be a bit too trusting of adam being able to think clearly after he snaps and looses it completely
especially since we know she did not read the report (ep13):
so if she didn't read it or read it afterwards and also thought that adam's profile doesn't make it likely for him to become a serious threat, that might play out badly
and as a result, well... wouldn't this be horrible and ironic if it happened to someone named skinner

and, i think that if adam were to die, amy trying to summon ghosts (as in get in contact with him with the help of the person with the ring of the dead) does appear likely
ok so i know we don't know really know that much about JSP, but i have some theories/speculations
so, spoilers till ep15
i do like the idea of JSP being a billionaire who doesn't try to work with amy to 'mutual benefit' as jerome but is openly against her
this is mostly based on the song New Invention from JSP's playlist, which is also on the main podcast playlist (so i'm assuming it might be important not just because i like it a lot)
so to sum up: the song, if we try to make it fit the harbingers, looks like someone (i assume JSP) blaming someone else (maybe amy) for being controlled (like mind controlled possibly)
whether it is unfounded or not, that's a completely different topic. but it's enough that we know that amy would most probably not feel bad about mind-controlling a billionaire
and who might think that as well? - claudia
i have not yet analyzed everything with this in mind, as it is a fresh thought, but are we sure claudia is on amy's side?
because i think it is safe to assume that claudia is trying to prove adam is not to blame for the boston incident, or at least that he did the best he could under the circumstances
but what about amy?
especially since we're not really sure who is paying claudia, we can just assume (as i think amy might assume) that it's eckerberg as he has a lot of money and has an obvious connection with both of them
and also claudia somehow suspected that amy was lying about the ring, but as someone pointed out, that may be because she also interviewed eckerberg so we can't be so sure of him paying for all this
and who do we know that most probably has a lot of money and will become relevant later on? - JSP, so as someone already pointed out, most probably the richest woman in the world
and when it comes to claudia acting fair towards both adam and amy i find this bit from ep12 a bit worrying:
so i guess if your client is a billionaire reporting that someone is actively against billionaire's saying stuff like
does warrant breaking privilege, especially if it comes from amy whose powers are scary to everyone, not just people she clearly hates
and here i talked about how easy it would be to blame the boston incident on amy
so i'm thinking that JSP even though she will have her own ring, will try to paint magic as dangerous, especially the type of magic amy is capable of
why? i'm thinking unlike jerome who has a vision he needs to bring to life (i wonder what will happen to that after boston) i do think she will be doing it for selfish reasons - to gain more money and power
this is based on almost nothing, but i think it would be interesting to see, especially since we already have a character whose actions are clearly evil - walker
so yes, i've been thinking about what walker said about adam as well:(ep9)
so safe to say it would suit walker's interest to paint amy as the villain who's responsible for boston, because he knows he can deal with adam. or at least that's what he assumes, as we know adam cares a lot about amy so that's potentially dangerous
but i think the idea of JSP and walker working together to go against amy and unregulated magic use or something is quite interesting to consider
especially if JSP's ring ends up being the ring of the body as pointed out in this rings lore post (i do like it a lot as the lore/worldbuilding aspect of fiction is usually something i don't pay enough attention to, so someone having put all that together is very cool), as it is something that would make her 'the good one' in the public eye
'look i'm good i can heal people' is i think a very powerful thing to be able to say in this context (but let's just not mention the fact that she can also make people ill - as not a lot of people know about this or even if won't be allowed to share it, one of them - claudia - might even be on her side)
and this helps walker, because he can say that ofc he's not against magic, he's just against people who use it irresponsibly like amy. people who are getting more powerful with each day and would harm him if possible (which assuming claudia would break privilege he would have good proof of)
and thinking about JSP and walker possibly forming an alliance made me think about this (arcana 3):
so stepping away from the romantic context of the story, i think the devil and the angel (so the challenger and the guardian) who want to stop what happened could be JSP and walker, i'm not quite sure who'd be who. the presidential candidates in ep9 are described as challengers, but tbf JSP does seem to have more reasons to change things, as in this scenario she's the one with magic powers
so what do you think? i think i might be going a bit too far, as we really don't have too much to go on when it comes to JSP, but i do think it is safe to assume that what ocean-lilac noticed is true and this is in fact the richest woman in the world. and it is interesting to think about what it could mean for everyone if you have more than one billionaire in the main cast.
i might be wrong and JSP will end up as someone with more good intentions, but i think it is more probable when it comes to jerome tbf. and it would be interesting to have someone who is in a way a reflection of walker, but with magic powers that can be used to gain popularity and approval in the public eye but also to make someone sick which is terrifying

i mean it could fit my theory, especially considering the fact she might be french as wiseabsol points out in the cool lore post
i like to mix in the songs that i like into the theories because i am incapable of not thinking about them/listening to them while theorizing

1973! If you're wondering what the fuck a Jesus movie is doing here, it portrays Judas as being in love with Jesus! Judas is Black! He's also a sympathetic character who's doomed by the narrative! My mom remembered seeing it in theatres and told me there were massive protests, not because of Judas, but because Jesus is shown being royally pissed off! And by the way...
THEY DID IT FUCKING TWICE!! The remake is from 2000 and it kinda sucks but it also garnered basically no outrage (except from musical theater fans pissed about the weak casting) in spite of the fact it's significantly more explicit than the original and suggests that whole "in love" thing was reciprocal!

That’s an exaggeration. What was invented in the 16th century was mercantilism. Capitalism really dates for the beginning of the nineteenth century, with the rise of industry and cash crops over artisans and merchants. Vulture capitalism, with the notion that companies have no duties other than generating profit, is even younger.
I think a lot of this comes from the fact that most people don’t know the formal definition of capitalism. We all know the word, we’ve all seen the jokes, but very few people bother to actually define it unless they’re talking about political theory and philosophy, so it’s easy to end up with the impression that Capitalism = Money Can Be Exchanged For Goods And Services.
Capitalism is the economic system where most of the means of production (i.e. everything people need to have to make the stuff that everyone wants) are owned by private individuals or corporations, who then hire people to provide the labor necessary to produce things, with the intent of selling the output at a profit. It’s the difference between “you’re a carpenter and you make a chair and you sell it” and “you’re Richard Q. Richington who owns a chair factory, and you pay people to sell the chairs you paid other people to make and then all the excess money goes back to you.” There have been Richard Q. Richingtons on and off throughout history, but that being the norm for every single industry is a pretty recent development.
