She notices his eyes widening and she tilts her head to the side, but she doesn’t mention it. She passes it off as the wheelchair, honestly. He probably wasn’t expecting to see someone in one, obviously. “I’m the greatest at web designs and coding. Really,” she says, and then moves so she’s right next to him. “What do you need done?”

“Oh uh...” Peter went back to looking at the screen and to where he was in the code. “Well I was just cleaning it up really, the guy who was hired before me was shite at web design. He didn’t put any thought or care into his work.” But Peter was physically exhausted but he had to present something today.

“And you don’t think there’s a reason for that? Fuck off.”

“Cursing doesn’t make me wanna leave any quicker, only make me wanna taunt you.”

“Do you want some help?” Babs smiles, peering over his shoulder. “Two heads are better than one, right?”

“Heh, I mean if you know anything about wed designs and coding you could be really helpful.” He said chucking a little he looked over and his eyes went wide for a moment he remembered her from the other night.

“Yeah, well, you don’t know my life, you don’t know my story. Get your butt into gear.”

“I’m getting in gear. I’m just trying to ignore you. I said two minutes and I meant it, now let me use my last one.” He just exits out of everything and back to typing his paper.

“What gave it away?”

"Aw come on, let's be neighborly. It's not like we actually bump into each other. Ever."

“Then you should’ve started earlier. Come on, buddy, this is the only computer that actually connects to the wifi in here…”

“Alright, alright just...two more minutes. I’m attempting to joggle two jobs and school work and this computers not going anywhere.” He says while looking over some OSCORP type news.

“Okay, well, you can go now.”

“...I’ve suddenly got the feeling I’m not welcome.”

She lowered her eyes after his last statement. It was true, and it was also something she hadn’t considered. Wanda had been a mutant her entire life; being different was something she was accustomed to. She recalled how the other villagers would react when she and Pietro used their powers to assist in conflicts as they arose. They looked at them with fear in their eyes. Wanda felt it in her veins then, and she could still feel it now. 

There was a sudden ping on his conscious, was it a warning? There was never a mistake with his senses but the second it appeared it was gone, the hint of red he saw in Scarlet's eyes might have been what set him off but he stood still and listened. She didn't mean him no harm, he knew that somehow and he knew his senses let him know of anything the would happen to him if he weren’t careful. Surprisingly a lot could happen that wasn’t life threatening. He looked down to the arm that soon touched his and listened once more to her words, and that was something he hadn’t quiet thought of.

“My good friend, would you like to see a blast-ended skrewt?”

“YES.” Peter coughed in his hand and tried to shrug off his excitement. “I mean yeah, sure. Sounds cool.”

“Alright, alright, I’m calm. Keep your hair on.”

“Sorry Harry, it uh....worries me when your upset. Whats up?”

Gwen or Mary Jane?

It seemed as though she had caught his attention… That, or he was listening very carefully to something that was very far away. It was difficult to tell, as he had a mask over his face. She could have just as easily read his mind, but the idea of doing so seemed intrusive at best, and so she opted to be patient instead. When he did finally respond verbally, she straightened a little.

This conversation always brought his mood down. He was never sure what to say given he was sort of able to see both sides. He already knew where the people close to him stood with the act and though they wanted his opinion he just didn't have one. He didn't want to be seen as reckless to the people when he was Spiderman cause even if he was against the act people might turn on him and if he was with it wasn't it basically the same? Peter hated think about it. He shot a web out to the far side of the building and used it to swing closer to the Scarlet Witch. He perched next to her and didn't sense anything dangerous so coast was clear for now.

“Am I not? I can be the freakiest thing ever, if you’d really want me to be!”

"... I'm curious to see how freaky you can be.... Don't know if that's a good thing or not."

“The Spiderman-ness. How do you counteract gravitational effects?”

"Well my hands and feet are covered with minute hairs that generate a tiny electrical force strong enough to hold 173 times my weight. Just like a spider."

“Amateurs show their entire skill-set.”

"Then I'll be sure to be around the next time have the unfortunate back breaking task of climbing a building."

“Good, I’m glad you’re going to be safe. I don’t really trust anyone anymore. Especially with all the act and stuff. I’d rather you guys be safe.”

"It's pretty crazy out here but I wouldn’t worry. None of us have gotten caught yet. As long as we stay under the radar I think we’re safe. But I can’t speak for the anyone else so I don’t know why I keep saying ‘we’."
