INTRODUCING ZOE STILZA ໒꒰՞ ܸ. .ܸ՞꒱ა the nineteen-year-old combatant nurse of team akuta and the middle sibling of august and eishia. she carries herself as someone dependable yet lively, someone people can rely on while still finding comfort in her animated and fun loving presence. however, one thing about zoe remains painfully clear: no one gets to hurt the people she cares about and walk away unscathed. especially not her siblings. beneath her warm and caring nature lies frightening brute strength, one she will never hesitate to use against anyone who dares threaten her family or peers. zoe is fiercely protective of those close to her, but her devotion toward august and eishia stands above all else. in fact, her love for her siblings runs so deeply that even her jinki itself was born from that very bond.
“your vital signs are a significant proof that you’re alive.”
it was a phrase zoe stilza heard almost every day growing up.
her grandmother, a terrifyingly strict doctor, drilled the lesson into her from the moment she was old enough to understand what a heartbeat was. as long as a person’s pulse remained steady, their breathing stable, and their heart continued beating within the baseline of normality, then they were alive and safe. but the moment those numbers began rising too high or dropping too low, death would start creeping closer. and if you happened to be her grandmother’s patient, you would probably fear her screaming long before death itself.
despite her harshness, zoe admired her grandmother deeply. to zoe, there was something comforting about the routine of checking vitals. the rhythmic beeping of monitors, the rise and fall of breathing, and most of all, the sound of a heartbeat through a stethoscope.
ever since she was young, zoe would press the cold diaphragm against her own chest just to listen. zhe steady rhythm reminded her that she was healthy, stable, and still alive which eases her anxiety. and in a world where people could disappear overnight, get swallowed by trash beasts, or collapse from exhaustion without warning, that reassurance became something zoe desperately clung to.
especially whenever she finds her siblings getting hurt out of the blue. whether it was small scrapes from cutting up cloths or from eisha’s undying curiosity on defibrillators, zoe became obsessed with checking if they were still breathing. she would sit beside them in silence, listening to their heartbeats over and over again until her own breathing finally calmed. because as long as their hearts were still beating, she could still protect them.
over time, that fear of losing people twisted into an overwhelming need to stabilize everyone around her. she began helping at her grandmother’s clinic, assisting injured patients and learning how fragile the human body truly was, especially from polluted areas on the ground. yet despite the pressure from her grandmothers’s ruthless lectures, zoe could never bring herself to look away from people who were suffering. she hated unstable heartbeats. hated ragged breathing. hated the dreadful silence that came when a pulse disappeared beneath her fingertips. and somewhere amidst that desperation to keep people alive, zoe unknowingly gave anima to the object she treasured most.

introducing ZOE STILZA’S jinki, HEARTSTOPPER ౨ৎ a pink stethoscope with a heart-shaped diaphragm that she carries everywhere. its anima was born from zoe’s deep comfort in the sound of a steady heartbeat, alongside her obsessive desire to keep the people she loves alive and stable. once activated, heartstopper grants zoe several abilities:
⎯ε❤︎з HEALTH STABILIZATION : no matter how critical a patient’s condition becomes, heartstopper can forcibly return their body to a stable state by using zoe’s own health as the baseline. as long as zoe perceives herself as “healthy,” she can drag others back from the brink of death and stabilize vitals that have fallen outside the range of survival. however, the greater the condition she heals, the more strain her own body silently accumulates.
⎯ε❤︎з COMFORT : the calm reassurance zoe feels from her steady pulse transfers directly to anyone who listens through heartstopper, their fear will weaken, their panic slows down and their pain dulls. the sensation is often described as floating peacefully amongst the clouds. due to zoe’s association of calmness with weightlessness and safety, those affected by heartstopper may literally begin to float alongside the rhythm of her heartbeat.
⎯ε❤︎з PACIFICATION : heartstopper possesses the rare ability to pacify trash beasts. by amplifying the rhythm of her heartbeat through the stethoscope, zoe can temporarily suppress their aggression and force them into a calm, almost trance like state. some trash beasts even begin levitating unconsciously as they synchronize with her pulse. once suspended high enough, zoe can abruptly stop the resonance, causing the trash beasts to crash violently back to the ground and destroy themselves on impact.
ironically, despite being one of the least outwardly violent jinki, heart stopper became feared among cleaners for how effectively it could silence chaos itself and how you won’t even notice that you are being manipulated to feel warmth.
