I know I’m probably gonna get hate for this but I mean this of complete curiosity. But why is “demisexual” a label that is needed? Most people don’t feel sexual attraction towards specific people unless they’re. Well. Attracted to them? Because they’ve gone out for a while and got emotionally attached or something? Isn’t that just a normal thing in most cases??
Well, it’s referring to the need to have an extremely close bond before even attempting to date [not to say they wouldn’t have started to without that, it depend on their romantical orientation but i’m going off demiromantic as well], typically needing to be close friends. It’s also a branch off of asexuality, those who, usually, never feel any sexual need no matter how close they are to someone. Demisexuals would typically only want or feel the need for any sexual activities until they’re completely comfortable with that specific person. Unlike someone willing to have sex fairly easily with most people only after a little while.
I’m not the total expert on the subject though rofl, and by far what i said doesn’t apply to everyone who identifies under the label.
