when i had surgery the nurse told me i should think of something nice for when the general anaesthesia kicked in but i couldn't think of anything except sheep grazing in a field and bruce springsteen smiling at me with his kind eyes

there are a lot of really good ancient roman laws but i think my favorite is that, if you got struck by lightening and died, you couldnt have a proper burial because it meant that the gods hated you
