"Michonne did steal your Protein Bar."

I love them together too so let's go with it. This is what I'm thinking.

Tina says Artie wrote a movie for Mercedes which implies she would be interested in acting if the opportunity arose.

I can't remember what Sam is doing but we know he's creative and artistic (thinking about the macaroni art) and even though he was a model for a bit, I think he would be quite content with a life outside the spotlight. It's not his drive in the same way it is for Mercedes.

So with all that in mind I could really see him doing a creative role in film making. We know he's a bit of a nerd and likes super heroes and sci fi and I could really picture him working on sets or props or special effects or even costumes (Kurt could teach him some techniques). Maybe he even worked with Artie at first on his film.

So a few years down the line they're both single but they've both had other relationships and lived their best lives and they meet again on a film set. Mercedes is the leading lady, Sam is doing whatever he does and doing it well.

They reconnect properly and are just friendly at first but they start to remember why they loved each other when they were basically still kids and find themselves falling for each other all over again. There's a lot of wonderful pining as they both decide whether to make a move but decide not to because their friendship is so important. I think Sam has probably learnt some patience by this point 😂

Eventually, they both get independently nominated for awards and Sam asks Mercedes if she will go with him as his date. Her face falls and he's like "Oh no I fucked up." But she's like "No no no. It's just... That's exactly what I was going to ask YOU." And then she jumps him.
