If I seriously want to get back into writing then I figured I should at least make a formal introduction post for my Canon Rook :)

Pre Veilguard Was among a few other orphans House de Riva bought when she was around years old. Very attached to Viago from a young age on but that sentiment was very one sided. After years of training one of the only fledglings still alive and more or less well. Has been in love with Illario since the first time they ever met and pre Veilguard they had a casual on off thing going on for a while but nothing more, never confessed. Acquainted with Lucanis in her late teens / early twenties, stayed friends until Lucanis „died“.

Kept in contact with Teia while hunting Solas with Varric, mad at Viago for exiling her. Hiiiii thank you so much for the prompt it’s really cute 🩵🩵🩵 Funfact or tmi, Emmrich was actually the first romance for this Rook before I really got into the all the details and side characters and stuff so while Emmrich isn’t the „canon“ romance for Cerise anymore I still really love them and have a soft spot for them, so have this very short, fluff, Drabble of their early game relationship | 400 words

A soft knock on the door made Emmrich look up from his correspondence, quill still tipped into an inkwell.

After he called out to enter a familiar blond head of hair looked around the room, not quite stepping over the threshold yet. „Oh where’s Manfred?“ the young woman asked once she finally shut the door behind herself, fully in the room now.

„I think he was quite taken with Assan earlier,“ Emmrich regarded her with a calm smile. Not long ago Cerise had shared Lucanis’ rather cautious opinion on necromancy but she had always tried to be more subtle about it. Emmrich liked to think he could eventually made her see what he saw in it. At least she didn’t avoid his room altogether anymore, though it was obvious she still didn’t feel quite as comfortable here as he’d like. Which begged the question: „Why are you here?“

It was hard to tell in the light but Emmrich thought a light flush spread on her face.

„I came to make sure you were okay. Weishaupt was intense and - well I wanted to thank you for staying calm when Lucanis and Davrin were fighting and what you said to them -“

His smile softened as she rambled on and for a second he found it hard to believe this girl, for this very moment she seemed more like a girl than a grown woman, was a paid killer. And he didn’t want to add on to her worries.

„Compared to our friends I think I got away quite well,“ he assured her with a smile, „but how are you faring?“ It couldn’t be easy on her, so young yet so much responsibility to bear. Back when he had been her age he was still studying in the necropolis, having fun with like minded peers. But then again their lives differed in more than just that aspect.

She chewed on her lip, „It’s- It could have worse? We’re alive, Davrin is alive, the whole warden thing had me worried, Lucanis - he will be fine, eventually. He’s gonna get it right next time.“

„And how are you?“ Emmrich repeated his question, gaze firmly fixed on her.

Silence stretched between them until he got a small, „Can I stay with your for a bit?“ which was as close to an admission of how she felt as he could get. It was a start.

„Just come here.“

To Cerise, 

Viago is still complaining about your actions, but I suspect he just wants to complain for the sake of it. He misses you of course, don’t listen to what he wrote to you. Treviso’s occupation would have happened with or without your actions, our situation is not your fault (regardless of what Vi told you). But sending you away was the right decision, I know you are still mad, but you are safer out of reach of the other talons. Not all of them see things as we do and I know some of them would have preferred a more permanent punishment than temporary exile.

As for us, we’re still fighting the occupation. One step at a time as Viago likes to remind me. Often. You know him, always preferring the long game.

Vi and I trust Varric to keep you out of trouble you can’t handle. And trust you help him find the Dread Wolf in return. By the time you return home things should have calmed down and all will be forgotten. You will tell us all about your travels and Viago can act like he doesn't care.

Lucanis asked about you, he is about to depart for a new target, a Venatori prison guard, write him some words when you get the opportunity. He will be happy to hear from you.
