THH CAST X REMNANTS OF DESPAIR Character AU headcanons âźď¸
One of the more.. lowkey remnants...
She uses her famous status as a pop idol to influence despair into her audience, being one of the few remnants in this THH cast who does not actively participate in murder or inappropriate scandals due to her PR obligations. Quite sneaky and manipulative...
Has a so-so relationship with her fellow remnants of despair, half of them respecting her unique position as a despair, and half thinking she's pathetic for not being more "aggresive".
That being said, I'd say Sayaka's quite the loner amongst the remnants due to how different her role is as well as how busy she is. :(
Yeah, man, this guy murders.
He likes to, in his words, "play with his food'". He claim to look up to Junko as his #goals, though some remnants know for a fact that he is envious of Sayaka's position as a pop singer influencer.
Oh, and yes, I do think he and Sayaka would have quite a tense-yet-flirtatious relationship/friendship/romance-in-denial.
Either way, his prowess in physical violence does not make up for the lack of braincells in his head. He hangs out a lot with Mondo and Yasuhiro since they both match his wavelength, A.K.A. the same level of idiocy.
The behind-the-scenes communications and public image manager!
Considerably one of the most powerful remnants, he's quite the troublemaker despite his seemingly innocent looks. Takes care of broadcasting the monokuma-despair-killing-game shenanigans to the world.
Junko unofficially considers Chihiro as her second-in-hand, considering that Chihiro is most important when it comes to ordering around the gang according to Junko's orders and plans. Despite her popularity amongst the remnants, Chihiro can't help but have small inner manic episodes over how much he wishes he could be like the others.
(i.e. Taka's loud confidence, Sakura's physical strength, etc)
Mondo? more like... murder! (KICK ME RIGHT NOW)
Him and The Crazy Diamonds never seem to stop growing in size and power. Absolute liability for the remnants of despair when it comes to sheer TERROR capacity.
Despite how the majority of remnants look up to him, his stubborn personality refuses to let him have less-than-explosive arguments with anyone. Except perhaps Kiyotaka, who's the only person whose ever "matched his freak" when it came to "conversations" (Be so fr, everyone is tired over their volume-matching contests.)
His personality still doesn't do him good as a remnant of despair.
You can apply the majority of my Mastermind Kiyotaka headcanons for Remnant of Despair Kiyotaka to be real. SO CHECK THAT OUT!
Junko is always on the edge of feeding her impulse to murder Kiyotaka on the spot due to how overbearing he is in conversations. Acting all high-and-mighty.... pfft. But she doesn't kill him because of how much she simultaneously adores how much despair (annoyance) he triggers in her and others.
Kiyotaka is seen as the reformer of the group, having his own facility to where people and EVEN remnants of despair are sent to be "disciplined".
NOW. As much as I hate to admit this, I am quite unsure on as what Hifumi would do as a remnant of despair. (SUGGESTIONS OPEN!)
For one, I do think he'd absolutely endulge himself in the "coolness of being recognized as a villian", but also he'd be kind of unaware of how lowly others look down at him. (They don't even mock him for his patheticness because they don't think he's worth their time.)
I can see him as one of those online social media presences who joke around and make memes and rage-bait about disturbing events that happen around the world... the type of guy who knows he has the power to desensitize people towards violence and chaos through the "jesting of it all".
Celestia's position as a remnant is... weird.
Somehow, Celestia has managed to retain her individuality away from the remnants of despair despite the pushback she's gotten for doing so. This is something Junko finds intriguing and entertaining to watch.
She continues to maintain her high title as a gambler, perhaps striking despair through her absolutely outrageous wins. And of course, out of her own will, he decides to contribute all of her leftover money towards Junko and her mission of despair.
A loner but a liability, indeed. Junko likes her a good amount.
Its hard to read her any further than "the physical one" of the group.
Keeping mostly to herself, Sakura does her part as a remnant of despair through, well, killing. Killing quite cruelly. (If I were to have added blood to all the pieces I've drawn for the remnants, she would've been the bloodiest.)
Often makes the first move in situations that require physical work of any kind. Junko gets kind of bored by her predictable mannerisms, acting all closed up and stoic despite being a mass murderer.
She's also known to flex her own individual will at times, often choosing to tag along with Aoi wherever she is. Junko could care less about where Sakura goes at and what Sakura does at this point HAHA
As another remnant who is often more lowly percieved by her peers, Aoi struggles with finding something to do with herself.
She's aware at how badly her ultimate talent serves her as a remnant of despair, and so she decided to choose a more lowkey path when it came to causing despair. How? By pretending to be your everyday friendly neighborhood person. (Stay with me for this IM DOING MY BEST TO MAKE HER INTERESTING HAHAH)
After the tragedy occured, Aoi found that it was possible to manipulate the vulnerable through taking a sweetening facade. Her double-life personality is highly influenced by Junko, as she feels that that would be the best strategy to take on if she wanted to stand out.
I can imagine her luring people into strange places only to have them all mangled by Sakura. Oh, the terror. :D
I drew Yasuhiro with a lot of aura in my drawing not gonna lie, BUT I'LL BE REAL, Yasuhiro has NOT gained any aura in his clairvoyance skills.
Still as pathetic as before, Junko decided to have Chihiro insert a microphone-speaker piece of technology on Yasuhiro as to "relay prophetic messages/orders" from Junko. And of COURSE... Yasuhiro totally believes that he just so happens to supernaturally hear Junko.
Just a silly prophet guy who isn't looked highly upon by his peers.
Sadly, one of the more manipulated ones of the remnants.
And by manipulated, I mean that every remnant sees Toko as nothing a ravaging animal when they decide to release her as Genocide Jill. Byakuya has her wrapped around his finger, so he easily manages Toko around when it comes to fulfilling chaos and despair.
Junko looooves Toko and Genocide Jack for just how much variety there is when it comes to interacting with her. Genocide Jill has no probem in absent-mindedly killing people off for Byakuya. As for Toko, I'd like to think Toko would be someone who by a SMALL CHANCE, can kind of recognize that she is being used. And that she doesn't fully want to be a remnant of despair if its just her mental disability being abused for her murderous skills.
When it comes to managing new recruits for Junko's plans, he's the guy in charge.
Byakuya's influential position as a Togami inevitably has him being used by Junko for her plans. He and Chihiro are pretty linked up this way, being important partners of each other when it comes to gathering believers of despair.
Funnily, I do think Byakuya will be depressed. Having now been enabled to do all the stuff he'd like to do, has now come to a point of not knowing how to pump up his ego. It's all become redundunt at this point. And of course, Junko sees this side of Byakuya, and if anything finds that part of him strangely attractive.
One of Junko's personal favourite remnants.
Let me explain my interpretation of a despair-filled Kyoko. I'd like to imagine that her intelligence as a detective has battled against her senses as a remnant of despair. Similar to Toko, a part of her isn't fully convinced, but OOPS! Junko senses the rebellion in her, and kind of plays around with her like a test subject, eager to see the derangedness of her opposing beliefs leak out.
She's almost always is sent to Kiyotaka for reforming, aaaand you can probably imagine the kinds of stuff she's gone through.
Either way, during the very few times she willingly coordinates with the remnants, she's often in charge of tactically analyzing situations and finding the best path or solution for things.
Pretty much is tagged along in every mission since he's seen as a lucky charm amongst the group.
I drew scars on Makoto to imply the fact that Makoto, through his time of service as a remnant of despair, simply has been preeeetty lucky when it came to physical accidents.
His plain personality has been overwhelmed by every other personality amongst the remnants of despair, but he accepts his humble spot as a simple addition to the success of missions. Perhaps his inner conviction when it comes to his supernatural luck helps him hold out when it comes to self-worth.
EXTRA GENERAL NOTES TO TAG ALONG:
Kiyotaka's design isn't original, as I used his mastermind design from one of the official danganronpa mangas!
Hifumi's design is slightly inspired by this pin I found on Pinterest! So here's some credit to that design.
AND NO, I don't have any notes to add along for Mukuro! She's technically kind of a mastermind, but also not a mastermind..? Hence why I didn't include her as a remnant of despair.
