Daily Texan: You said in your lecture that the characters you relate most to are Mugen and Spike. Care to explain? Watanabe: First, I’m often shooting people and slashing them up with a sword… It’s a joke. [Laughs] Spike and Mugen aren’t very straightforward in expressing themselves. For example, even if there’s a girl they like standing right in front of them, they don’t pursue her directly - in fact, they do the opposite, they ignore her almost. I think that part is kind of like me. If I was to sum it up, it’s kind of like being a little contradictory or rebellious. DT: Are you talking about Spike’s relationship with Faye? W: Of course. Sometimes I’m asked the question, ‘What does Spike think of Faye?’ I think that actually he likes her quite a bit. But he’s not a very straightforward person so he makes sure he doesn’t show it. (x)

- The show will have run for 8 season, around 8 years!! How cool is that??

- This show has gotten so much love and the acknowledgement it deserves! It hasn’t been slept on and has lived up to it’s own, amazing potential

- the show got cancelled but was so loved that fans got it picked back up!!

- We weren’t cancelled. It was a decision to come to an end and a final chapter. A final chapter that writers and actors will have full control of and make the best! We need to remember that we aren’t the only ones who want “all the answers” and the happy ending - they do to. And this way they get to!! It’ll be so good<3

- you’ve watched two dumb, sweet individuals grow from colleagues to friends, slowly develop big feelings, fall madly in love, get married and have a baby!! Thag story arc itself is insane and you’ve basically witnessed these two dumb dumbs most important milestones! He’s an idiot who’s learned how to emotion and she’s learned that being a goof sometimes is okay. She’s goal oriented af and it’s truly inspirational

- you’ve watched a cool badass come to terms with who she is and learn to not apologize for it! She’s now embracing herself fully and everyone in this amazing fandom only loves her more every day

- you’ve watched this a grown man find and help form his own his own chosen family, be fully embraced and loved to the fullest. He might be a robot sometimes but they love the meep morp<3

- you’ve watched the earth’s most kind (a bit too kind sometimes) man be the best best friend there is and find his own true love. He’s become the proudest papa. He gets to have weird sex and eat weird things with his soulmate miss Genevieve.

- you’ve watched this man be the best mama hen and raise his chaotic work babies. All while he’s been an amazing actual girl-dad and sergeant then lieutenant! He’s been a character working against stereotypes for men, stereotypes saying men can’t be soft and feel things

- idek what to say with this queen… just wow she’s made us laugh so much, I can’t even begin to think of how to thank her enough

- there are so many more points and things to thank this show and characters for but this is getting long
