Hope you’re sitting down.  I know it’s going to be hard to believe that an exhaustive investigation into the Thunder Bay police force found systemic racism throughout.  After all, this is the same police force that “accidentally” send out a “joke” press release to the media concerning a murdered First Nations man whose body was found in an area people go to swig mouthwash with the headline “Fresh Breath Killer Captured; the same cops forced to attend a mandatory session on cultural sensitivity in the context of missing & murdered Indigenous women and instead of behaving like grownups harassed and heckled the facilitator to the point where she was forced to cancel the session; the same cops that beat up 15-year-old First Nations girls before arresting them and showing them crude racist drawings for yuks back at the police station; the same police force whose chief reacted to a human rights complaint filed by three nearby First Nations for police racism by publicy stating how insulted he was.   Oh wait - it makes complete sense that the Thunder Bay police would be found to be rotten with racism throughout & to its core!  My bad! (BTW, there is an excellent podcast series that touches a lot on the Thunder Bay police’s racist track record you should check out!
