This vegan chocolate pear tart is a decadent treat with its rich chocolate and sweet pears. The rich chocolate filling and soft pear slices go perfectly with the buttery cocoa crust, making it a delicious dessert for any event.
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup cocoa powder. 1/2 cup vegan butter, cold and cubed. 1/4 cup powdered sugar. 3-4 tablespoons cold water. 2 ripe pears, thinly sliced. 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips. 1/4 cup almond milk. 2 tablespoons maple syrup. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Pinch of salt.
Instructions: Preheat oven to 375F 190C. In a food processor, pulse together flour, cocoa powder, vegan butter, and powdered sugar until it resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together. Press the dough into a tart pan, ensuring it covers the bottom and sides evenly. Prick the bottom with a fork. Arrange pear slices over the crust in an overlapping pattern. In a small saucepan, melt dark chocolate chips with almond milk over low heat, stirring constantly. Once melted and smooth, remove from heat and stir in maple syrup, vanilla extract, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt until well combined. Pour the chocolate mixture over the pear slices, spreading it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the chocolate is set. Allow the tart to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
