Riyo looking at Rudo through the window but then laying down and pretending to having been asleep in the car the whole time is crazy

but much crazieer is that she lied that she heard Rudo's pained noises

she jumped down into his room when he was walking INTO the bathroom, so BEFORE he made any noises.

Plus Rudo is secretive about his hands, you know he would be very quiet + he is used to grit his teeth...i imagine he did his best to learn to tolerate it even back up on the sphere - when you are in pain you usually try to not make a show of it to not worry your relatives...Rudo would be quiet not to worry Regto, he would definitely make it into a habit and not just start grumbling in pain full volume.

tbh lounging like that instead of you know, coming to check on him - is weird as fuck by itself - IF that really was her reasoning to intrude on him - normal action would be to knock on the bathroom door and be like "Hey Rudo i heard pained moaning are you okay?"

i have no idea how you guys read it as "she is protective of her family and she is distrustful" thats such crazy talk because from Rudo's perspective it's supposed to read like she is being friendly, trying to make him feel at home by being so familiar (Rudo is charitable enough to accept this behavior)

but this is not a normal way to be "overly cautious and suspicious of him" she is being provocative

OMG i completely forgot about the first flashback...so she was actually already Gazing™ at him like that through the window??? prior to their first meeting? and enjin didn't even know she was there-?

then later, she slipped into rudo’s room before he even started cleaning his gloves, meaning he might not have been doing anything at all, sleeping or even changing, and she still would have broken in just to observe him regardless...girl wth 😭

i’m honestly not surprised though, given the earlier exchange where she casually remarked, “it’s surprising Rudo slept that night cuz he usually doesn’t get any,” and Zanka immediately shot her a sus look, “and how do you know that info?”  and riyo just doesn't answer-

riyo being casually intrusive and creepy must be a normal thing for everyone ig. enjin who knows her best, yet never reacts unless her behavior suggests she klled again. he clearly understood and accepted Something™ in her, something she usually doesn't show or admit to anyone, which caused her to trust him and recruit her.

now, considering she was once a HIGHLY competent hitman with good observational abilities, and rudo is the most Open Book to ever open book, her continuing to "monitor" him like this feels excessive. she would’ve gathered everything she needed to know about him long ago, ESPECIALLY when semiu already Assessed™ rudo with her ability and confirmed he wasn’t a threat. corvus, who ALSO has a Sight ability, reached the same conclusion, and riyo trusts them both.

so why is she still doing this? if threat assessment were truly her only motivation, semiu and corvus already closed that case.

which means there’s clearly something more going on with her and her inclination to Observe rudo. well, him AND his budding relationship with amo, suspiciously.

im not sure i'd say her suspicion toward amo comes from fearing that amo might “take” Rudo the New Toy away from her, cause she’s never shown Whale Eyes when he formed close bonds with anyone else...and he’s far more attached to Enjin. but to be fair, Enjin is their captain, so Rudo would naturally be around him a majority of the time, which keeps Riyo in the same orbit as well. amo is...different, so there's some merit here i guess. man idk 😭

what complicates this further for me is that I don’t think she was entirely "performing" around him during the time she spent Watching him. there’s genuine sincerity in their interactions, and it’s likely she began to genuinely care for him well before the trash-beast (or even Raider) arc. her attention toward him couldn’t have been driven solely by a hitman’s vigilance.

maybe she also has imposter syndrome or something? if that's the case, why would she only feel that way towards rudo and not zanka, who was also recruited after her? and wtf does amo have to do with riyo's imposter syndrome (cause she was giving amo the same Whale Eyes she gave rudo)?? 😭

PS: this all kinda reframes my other comment about riyo behaving so drastically towards (and about) amo in particular.

people often claim it’s overprotectiveness toward a former enemy who hurt her team, but fu was in the exact same position as amo, and riyo never reacted to him with anything even remotely similar. at all.

this girl literally raised her scissors to amo's face as a threat with a cold, unreadable gaze, like she was gonna do something, even after it was made abundantly clear rudo liked amo and would react harshly against riyo if she ever were to do something to amo. what do you guys think would've happened if amo didn't say anything...? what would riyo have done or said? and what if amo didn't comply with riyo investigating her due to her threatening position?
