To those who bleed in poetry

“you were the only one who ever understood”, you said

when all i did was love

although, those tend to be awfully lot the same.

I think i stopped liking you

Months ago.

You left and came back as rhododendrons started blossoming

“Don’t you love me anymore?”

And i have to tell you

I wish the flowers bloomed in early April.

I always wondered,

why the the most bitter lessons in life

are taught by love stories that end before you finish a box of matches

or people with limited days to light them.

I apologize, but I doubt there is any other way.

I don’t know who i am anymore

but the worst part is

i would rather live in oblivion

than lose not me, but you too

There is so much of you in me

i am running out of space

to the point where i

barely remember me.

Give me my body back

And that was supposed to be the end of that story

Not because we wanted it to be, but because it was the whole world against us, leaving us with no control over the matter

But you are staying and so am i

So what now when it’s us, and nothing but us? Why is staying more terrifying than leaving?

It’s bad when you leave,

But it’s way worse when you come back

(every time)

”Maybe in the next life,” you said.

It’s funny because i know you don’t believe in that kind of stuff

”Why is your heart beating so fast?”

”I thought it was yours”

Aren’t we all addicted to something that makes us feel like something?

If you are someone who gets to stay in love because whoever you love loves you back, you are pretty much the luckiest there is

Your silhouette turning as you stop before the light

Wait, can we stop?

Don’t do this

I think I’m having a panic attack

I promise I won’t touch you

Please?

And that was all there was.

You were my light at the end of the tunnel until the morning

and then never again.

The world as we know it will be long gone and our remains will turn into dust,

and if it was ever meant to be, I’m sure our atoms will fall entangled eventually.

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah, my heart was yours anyways.”

It was never about the necklace.

There is a sense of danger in the way that i miss you, like missing the thrill of skydiving as you hit the ground.

Lucky, lucky, lucky for you,

i have the traits of a daredevil.

To think that we are privileged enough to live in a universe where such things as simple as eye contact can hold so much magic.
