He had not, the strength of Clive or the rest of the Cursebreakers to have it removed. His body was frail from overuse of Bahamut until he finally said there would be no more as he was afraid of dying from the Curse.

So lost in his own thoughts was Dion that he strode forth only to run directly into Jill on mistake. "My lady I--" He hung his head low in apology, less like a man and more still like a child afraid of being screamed at or struck. "The brand is a constant source of anguish for me, I apologize. I caught mine own reflection this morn in the waters, it has unsettled me." A shake of his head trying to change the conversation to something less somber.

Jill cursed herself silently as she crashed into Dion. Had she truly her her guard down so? It was not long ago that Jill found it hard to follow conversations, her attention always on who or what could potentially strike or grab her.

She automatically took hold of his arms to not only keep him a safer distance away after she stepped back from him, but also to steady him. They collision had not hurt her, but she was not as afflicted as he was. It was a small mercy that she had mostly only semi-primed.

"As it is for all, Dion." She had seen so many Bearers suffer. She had always related to them, even when she was a child. A prisoner to her fate, her future entirely up to others. And yet, she could not fully understand their plight. But she had seen it in Clive's eyes. She had seen it as they traveled together. Oh, how horribly aware she was. While she had also been a slave, a weapon... She could at least hide once she was away. "I am not hurt. Forgive me. I am typically more diligent. I fear I have let myself get too comfortable."

She releases his arms, keeping a bit of distance between them. She still did not like to be close to men. Even if she trusted that Dion was not the sort of vile man that she would need to remove the hands of.
