Don't get Lost among the Crowd!
Truth be told a circus was not entirely his idea of fun; his time was much preferred spent in the way of reading or other such quite activities. Too late now was it to turn down the request for he had already agreed and today was that day, and the boys had already made their way off to the attraction.
It was a terrible decision, really, and one that opened the doors to another problem—how to dress for this sort of an event. Shadow’s taste in ‘casual’ was simple, concealing, usually of blues and purples, but such raiment would do no good around flesh and blood. Eventually he’d settled for dark trousers, white dress shirt and a grey sleeveless jumper. Nothing fancy, just normal, including forgoing the usual stashing of sharp objects within his clothing. It was less a hassle than dealing with his sleeves, as Ice had pointed out before!
When it drew closer to the time he was supposed to be meeting up with Ice Shadow figured he had best be going and set out, his brooding leading him to arrive late. It wasn’t that he disliked interaction or crowds, no, rather that he was sure this would lead to some kind of trouble. But that could be dealt with provided it came about, for now he set off to find the little ‘bot. Just as he began to question how to best look for him he caught his designation above the other voices and headed quickly in that direction. “Ice,” he announced, striding up to him. “Have you become separated from your brother?”
Ice had been just about to help himself to a big wad of cotton candy from the nearby stand when he suddenly heard Shadow respond to his call. Wow... the ninja was good! He wondered if Shadow had been following him the whole time, or if he just had really great timing. He spun around on his heel, turning to Shadow and staring up at him, startled. “O-oh! There you are!”
The first thing he noticed was the clothing Shadow was wearing. He was in some kind of a sweater vest, and while the shirt he had on underneath was long sleeved, it wasn't loose and flowing. Good, the Wily bot had taken his advice. This meant the amount of fish he was going to score would increase. So far everything was going to plan!
Brother... Oh! He meant Time! He thought back to his fight with the younger robot, and as much as he claimed he wasn't a child, their argument had been rather... immature. He didn't want Shadow to find out about that, for one thing he might change his mind about helping Ice if he thought he was a little brat (which he totally wasn't!). Besides, if he looked distressed, maybe Shadow would get him some ice cream or something, and he could save his money for games and other fun things.
He put on his best scared face, biting his lip a little and letting his eyes well up with tears. “Y-yeah... sort of... We had an argument, and then we got separated... or maybe he ditched me... I'm so glad you came, I was really afraid. There are a lot of people here, and everyone's so tall... I was worried some pervert might try to nab me or something.”
He hugged onto Shadow tightly. “I'm sure Time will come find me once he's not upset at me anymore. Since you're here though, you can escort me!” He beamed up at him, hoping Time didn't choose this moment to locate him. If he could just keep away from him for an hour or so, he was sure he'd have a lot more fun with Shadow, Time was so boring, and was constantly worrying about his schedules.
