Again, I said I’d only bring this up again when there was something worth mentioning, and well, there is.
Apparently, a supposed statement from BigHit has been making the rounds on Twitter. In that statement it says that Jimin and the other person did in fact know each other and that they had a relationship of some kind, but that they have not been in touch for years. The statement also asks people to respect both Jimin and the other party involved.
From what K-army are saying, the way the statement is written never actually confirms that the relationship was romantic. What they are pointing out is that the statement only makes it clear that Jimin knew this person and that there was contact years ago. That in itself is nothing new, because it is something everyone concluded at some point. What still has not been confirmed is whether or not their relationship was romantic, and honestly people need to stop making things up. The statement is what it is and it does not say anything beyond that. It is not about what I personally want to believe or twist into some other meaning, and I know there will always be someone who tries to say otherwise.
K-army themselves are not very happy with the statement and many of them do not even consider it official. I am not sure whether it has been picked up by multiple news outlets in Korea or only one, because I have not yet come across an actual link to the article where it appeared. That is why I think the most reasonable thing to do right now is to wait throughout the day in Korea and see what other media sources have to say about it.
For the time being, and only based in that supposed statement, what is confirmed is that Jimin did have contact with that person in the past, but that it has been years since then. What this makes absolutely clear is that the video was posted without Jimin’s consent. At the end of the day, that is the only thing that really matters in this whole situation.
