Anyway there’s Donnie, Raphael’s vessel. (guardianhealer), There’s Matt, Michael’s vessel (fathersgreatflood) who is also still being possessed by Michael and the two have a good relationship. There’s obviously Nick. And there’s also Azrael’s vessel, Holly. (littlest-archangels).

Generally speaking Nick and Donnie are the only ones with truly bad experiences with their angels are actually the only ones to have real consistent complaints about it. Not that the others don’t also have complaints, just that Donnie and Nick are the only ones who got mentally destroyed in the possession process.

Still as long as Luke didn’t say he was still being possessed, because Matt doesn’t say he is, (and plus it’s Lucifer, they wouldn’t trust the name and would thus probably not trust Luke if they knew. Because how would they know that Luke wasn’t a cover name for Lucifer) they’d be pretty okay with him because over all most everyone would understand, “eh it wasn’t that terrible.”

aND SO BASICALLY what Nick’s reaction to Luke would be immediate resentment. Whether anyone else knew Lucifer was still possessing him or not, Nick would know because he has residual grace that acts up when real angels are around, hidden or not. And it especially would react to Lucifer. And so while he wouldn’t call him out on it, he would be immediately repelled and resentful.

Because he already feels isolation in the real world because normal people don’t get it. And among the other vessels he personally knows, it’s only Donnie that doesn’t make him feel like he’s isolated because Donnie having a bad experience as well. But he can handle the other vessels because they don’t have angels associated with pain and so he understands why they wouldn’t understand.

bUT WITH LUKE. OH HOHO. LUKE IS WITH LUCIFER. LUKE SHOULD UNDERSTAND BEING WITH AN ANGEL ASSOCIATED WITH PAIN. BUT HE DOESN’T. BECAUSE LUCIFER DECIDED TO SHAPE UP AND LUKE LIKES HIM. AND IT’S THE ULTIMATE ISOLATION. WITH SOMEONE WHO SHOULD UNDERSTAND BETTER THAN ANYONE AND HE fUCKING DOESN’T.

and I mean, even though my lucifer is fandomless now, for the purposes of this verse, Lucifer would recognise Nick!! And so Luke probably does know, even if Nick doesn’t tell him. He’d be really confused because even if Lucifer is trying to improve, he doesn’t much like to confront his past, so it’s unlikely that Luke would actually know what went down with Lucifer and Nick.

so Luke is feeling really confused because no one is telling him everything, and he’s just trying to fit in and make connections with other people who also know what it’s like to have an angel kicking around... and he figured that Nick would get it especially, maybe have a few tips for dealing with the nerdy angel that he knows 

and obviously Nick doesn’t, so Luke is just really confused?? 

and Luke is this weird street musician okay like... he didn’t have a house, or a steady job, he mostly just worked in various bars as he travelled around the country, and busking was his favourite thing to do, so he’s this kinda scruffy guy who is always making sound and wears a guitar around his shoulders

so he’s like.... the least threatening guy you’d meet, and he’s kinda relieved to find these people who also have angels but then it’s not quite right, because he and Nick might’ve had the same angel but they have such different experiences
