I recently rediscovered Hannibal (NBC) after a 5(?) ish year period of accidentally forgetting how mind-numbingly good this show was. Is!! (I don't have hopes for season 4 because Netflix is probably the best shot this has at more seasons and I'd rather it stays perfect and doesn't get Netflix-ized at all...I'm still traumatized by what happened to my baby, The Witcher, post season 1)

Anyway, when I first fell in love with Hannibal (the show, not the character--he can stay away from me, I like my legs), I was in an editing hiatus. And! In the meantime, I have come BACK in full force with the world's most time consuming and eye strain-inducing hobby!!!

So what better time to decide that after I made my Hannibal Strangelove Series Trailer (below) I realized I needed to make not one. Not two. But three more trailers in a saga. This is likely overkill but (!) my soul said NO GIRL YOU GOTTA KEEP GOING!! So here we are, after 12 hours of straight editing after work...

Bonus points to whoever can figure out which trailer I edited first, because I am an idiot and did it out of season order because my favorite episode was calling me with its allure to cry while editing.

I remember someone once said these mountains and rivers, with their ever-changing beauty, are sights you could admire endlessly without ever growing weary.

I was watching TikToks (RIP) the day before the US ban and frantically saving all my favorites when I discovered Epic (the musical based on Homer’s Odyssey) because this girl said the song “Would You Fall in Love with Me Again” reminded her of MDZS. I was like “idk what this song is but okay” and ended up going down a rabbit hole for HOURS. And the only thing I could visualize was a triumphant ending to a trailer with a smiling WWX. I am obsessed with trailers as a video form. Anyway, I then remembered I had a gorgeous draft of what was meant to be my 5 year CQL anniversary gift to the fandom. Only it had totally different music. And I threw some Oppenheimer in there and BAM. This happened. Took a TikTok ban and me breaking my hip to slow down and finally finish this piece. I hope you enjoy!

The bit where the aspect ratio changes hits me in the nostalgic feels like nothing else. I don’t know what possessed me when I made this video…but I like to think it was the last decade of watching this absolute masterpiece. Say what you will about the ending and the story’s faults, but in the end, this show meant a lot to a lot of us. And I’m damn glad I was there to the end.
