OH MY GOD??
i keep thinking about this silly scenario of charles getting sent out to look for arthur when he's been away from camp for a while, & when he tracks arthur down, he doesn't instantly greet him, but he decides to watch him from afar & see what he's doing & instead of expected outlaw activities, charles sees arthur ride his horse around fields of grass and forests observing animals, picking flowers & herbs, fishing, drawing, & i like to think that that this is when charles starts thinking about arthur with even more fondness than before, seeing this sort of soft side of him, i dunno i'm feeling insane i dunno anything about anything
so excited to do a 2nd playthrough of rdr2, but forever heart broken bc it will never be like my first. i can get the same clothes and the same horses, but are they rlly the same 💔💔

how is marvin from pulp fiction and kit fisto (cw style) the same person
Star Wars and friendships in the Order
I was reading up on Wookiepedia, and I stumbled across Aayla’s biography (okay, I lied. I was researching her for an upcoming one-shot over on ff.net) BUT!!!
I started to trace friendships and master/apprentice relationships (because I somehow have time for that 😂)
And and and
Yoda -> Dooku -> Qui-Gon -> Obi-Wan -> Anakin -> Ahsoka -> technically Ezra?
Interesting, right? All these connections? No wonder Yoda was so fond of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan - they were literally his padawan’s padawans!
I mean, he didn’t like Anakin at first but…
He always seemed to like Ahsoka, and regretted how her trial happened.
But…it gets better. I’ll start with Dooku.
See - Dooku is usually shipped with Jocusta Nu. (I have yet to figure out why - someone please tell me the origin - or is it just because of that deleted scene in AotC???) Jocusta Nu speaks fondly of Qui-Gon - someone she probably saw grow from a little boy to a man in his fifties. She was probably Obi-Wan’s lifeline after TPM, because she was a source of knowledge (and Obi was a scholar) and had loads of Qui-Gon stories.
Plus, when Anakin gets older - and probably Ahsoka - Jocusta Nu has plenty of embarrassing stories about everyone’s respective master’s. Things go down in the library after all.
Now Qui-Gon.
He’s probably close to Yoda after Dooku leaves, and of course - his lover? Master Tahl. I’ve always been curious if she was sorta like a surrogate mother to Obi-Wan and his group of friends.
(How much would have been different if she had survived? She would have not tolerated a grieving Obi-Wan being given a Padawan, that’s for sure. And little Ani prob would have done better under a female master because it reminded him of his mother. That’s a different rant anyway…)
Okay so! Qui -> Master Tahl -> Bant Eerin
Bant Eerin was Obi-Wan’s creche-mate and lifelong friend. I really wish she had shown up in the Clone Wars - she would have trashed Obi so much. (“Hey Ahsoka - did Master Kenobi every tell you when he flirted with an ambassador and got hot soup thrown in his face?” “Bant.” “Shut up, I’m contacting Quinlan - he has the recording.)
Bant Eerin was given a padawan at the start of the Clone Wars - who I don’t know. But this padawan probably trained with Ahsoka sometimes.
Once Tahl died, Master Fisto asked to complete her training. Got that? KK - we’ll get back to that in a bit.
Obi-Wan was close friends with five other people - Quinlan Vos, Darshaa Assant, Reeft, Siri Tachi, and Garen Muln.
We’ll start with Darshaa - a human whom was eventually killed by Darth Maul. (Seriously, why are all his loved ones killed by this guy?) Darshaa and her Master died just before the events of TPM, so Obi and friends still had plenty of memories about both of them, and probably talked about them to their padawans.
Now - Reeft. Reeft was a friend of this group, and the Padawan of Binn Ibes - who could very well be alive and kicking during the Clone Wars. Reeft was someone who studied independently, and went on independent missions. (Look up his bio - I don’t feel like explaining it). There’s no evidence when or where he died. So he could have been alive during the Clone Wars too.
Garen Muln. Ah Garen my old friend. Haven’t seen you since I was a wee child reading “The Last of the Jedi.” He argued with Obi alot, and was the Padawan of Clee Rhara (who was friends with Qui and Tahl - and has no death date recorded). He became a pilot in the Flight-Corps once being knighted (huh, I wonder who taught Ani how to fly??? Maybe not Obi but…) He was still alive when Order 66 was executed, and flew to Illum, where he met Fy-Tor-Ana, a lightsaber instructor - who trained everyone in the Temple… Garen meets up with Obi later and - seriously, check out the books if you feel like crying at the end. It’s well worth, and maybe the inspiration for “Rebels.”
Quinlan Vos. Like him or hate him, it’s up to you. But Quinlan (and Bant) seem to be Obi’s rocks, the people he leans on the most in the Temple. (Outside is a different story - I’ll get to that). He’s a bit of a maverick (hmm, like Qui-Gon…) and was trained by Master Tholme. His history is long and complicated, and I’m assuming most people know it.
He eventually trains Aayla Secura - who is most likely only a few years older than Anakin, and was an interesting case, as she was six when she was brought to the Temple.
So -> Master Fisto -> Bant -> random padawan
Bant + Obi-Wan + Quinlan -> Aayla
See where I’m going? If Quinlan and Bant had their padawans, and if masters were always around their former padawans - no wonder Aayla and Kit ended up having a thing. (I don’t know if that was intentional planning by writers, or it just worked out that way. Either way - neat!)
But I’m not done! Because - drumroll please - Siri Tachi!
Now, I won’t get into the ill-fated lover of Obi-Wan. Just - read it on your own - I presume you know.
But - she was friends with the rest of Obi’s gang, the padawan of Adi Gallia (whom Anakin always seems to get along with, and who also had connections to the Senate via her family. Also had a cousin in the Order - Stass Allie). She also trained Ferus Olin - Anakin’s frenemy.
Siri and Gallia (who was close to Shaak Ti and various other female members) would have been around for little Ani, and probably would have helped him - with Bant and gang - transition. Her own padawan grew up with Anakin.
She died (in Obi-Wan’s arms, of course) during a mission with Anakin, Ferus, and Senator Amidala early in the Clone Wars.
(Read the rest of her bio or comics - it’s pretty interesting).
Now I’m not quite done - so sorry, amigos.
But!
Luminara Unduli was only a year older than Obi-Wan meaning - meaning her Padawan before Bariss probably grew up with Anakin.
And - Depa is a few years older than Obi-Wan. And her padawan prob knew Anakin, and of course Ahsoka and Caleb sort-of knew each other growing up.
Of course, I haven’t even gotten started on all the politicians that were connected to the group - Bail, Padmé, Satine, etc. - who each have their own fascinating, complex relationships with our Jedi and each other.
Plus - Plo Koon is literally everyone’s dad, and Ki-Adi was Anakin’s master for a little bit when Obi was believed dead (Battle of Jabiim).
Why have I written this, you ask???
To disprove the bullshit theory that Anakin and Ahsoka had no one in the Temple besides Obi-Wan and Barriss. They had plenty of people, all thanks to Obi being a social butterfly when he was younger.
Thank you for your patience. 🤗
whenever i see young leo, i get violent flashbacks of river <\3
one of my favorite things about haydove is that they’ve always been sure of their love, and neither of them ever doubted it was reciprocated.
their love has been a constant in their lives ever since they were young, and it only evolved with them overtime as they got more serious.
we know how much haymitch loves her and how deeply devoted he is to her, because we’re in his mind—we get to see every single thought of his.
but it is very important for lenore dove’s character for us to also acknowledge how she loved him just as much.
even though we never get to see any of lenore dove’s inner thoughts, one very apparent reason why we can confidently say that this deep love of his is completely reciprocated, is because haymitch himself confirms it countless of times.
and because we get to see it firsthand, too.
for example, when snow tries to get in his head, it doesn’t work.
because haymitch has NEVER doubted her love for him. he didn’t need the constant reassurances because he was already confident of her love, unlike snow.
the flint-striker around his neck was enough proof.
he spends the whole book worried about hurting her, about his death staining her and his family to no return.
he knows that his death would ultimately lead to lenore dove’s demise too—because he knows she wouldn’t be able to survive losing him.
he tries to talk her out of acting recklessly, of throwing her life away for him. he’s desperate to keep her safe, even if it means she moves on without him.
“Promise?” She sounds a little more hopeful. “Because if I could count on that, I think I could bear it. But what I can’t bear is . . . what if we’re never together again?”
but lenore dove craves reassurance that she’ll get to see him again.
living a life without him feels so unfathomable to her that she can’t even bring herself to imagine it. she’d rather die, while clinging onto the hope of finding him again in their next lives.
lenore dove at this point in the book has already tried to sacrifice herself for him twice.
“Haymitch . . . I don’t want to be on this earth without you.”
“So now you’re trying to get them to hang you? You do, and I swear I’ll — I’ll —“
“Lenore Dove’s behind me, pleading. “Don’t take him — it wasn’t his fault! It was mine! Punish me!”
she’d done it with no hesitation and no fear, the only thought in her head being the fear of losing him and never getting to see him again.
she’d rather it be her than him, and she was willing to follow him anywhere—even the afterlife—just in the hopes of getting to see him again.
she’s a very nurturing character, it is in her nature to care that deeply for haymitch. she strives to protect his mind and his heart, not out of obligation, but because his safety and happiness means everything to her.
she doesn’t rest until she’s certain he’s content—and her heart refuses to settle for anything less than his peace.
“Lenore Dove says my dreams are like windows into my mind, too clear to need interpretation. Which is a nice way to say really obvious.”
she’s so gentle with him, and has always been.
she would never condescend him, speak badly of him, or diminish his feelings in any way. she loves everything that makes him who he is.
“Lenore Dove, I love you like all-fire. That’s for always.”
“I love you like all-fire, too. You and no one else. Just like my geese, I mate for life. And then some. Forever.”
she promises and vows to love him for as long as she lives. she knows she’ll never love anyone else again—and she doesn’t want to, either.
lenore dove had the chance to experience one of the purest and rawest forms of love with her boy. she got to love, and be loved in return, in such a pure and vulnerable way—and that feeling alone would’ve been enough for the rest of her life.
