Carefully pushing himself up and dusting off his robes, his attention turned back towards Soraya, a name he hasn’t heard before. At least, he thinks so. He searches through his memory, trying to think if he saw this individual in Mor Dhona or at the base of NOAH’s operations.  His memory, unfortunately, would prove fruitless. Maybe this Seeker was a new hire or one of the generations that Biggs III was apart of.

Bringing a hand to his chin, he thought over the woman’s words. Not many of the Scions were involved with NOAH, he could only name a couple of them, especially after the events of the Crystal Braves. However, her last set of words brings his thoughts to a stop, complete and utter confusion. Warrior of Light? Why doesn’t that seem familiar to him? No memory seems to be there what so ever. All the feats, we’re they just accomplished by the efforts of the Scions? The only Warrior(s) of Light he knew, was from the First, even if he did not meet them. 

“I assume you must be highly involved with them to know that I am from The Source, and that clearly rules out you being from the First. I cannot say I know you or recognize your title as Warrior of Light.” There was a firmness to his tone, showing his confusion and lack of understanding. Be that as it may, he held no anger. If anything it was frustration directed towards himself.

“But,”     A pause, a moment of consideration. He lifts his head to look at the purple-haired Miqo’te. His silence ensures, slowly exhaling. There would be no harm in believing her words right now, would there?

“I cannot be one to judge if there is no evidence to prove you are not those things, so I will consider the things you said to be the truth.” His eyes search around the area of her neck, seeing if her skin was tattooed like some of the Scions had. Unfortunately, from what little of her neck is shown, he couldn’t make anything out.

     Every word that came from the Exarch’s lips was like a stab to the back. The last time she had been forgotten, it was her foe, but now... how was she supposed to deal with someone who meant so much to her not knowing even her title.

     “You really don’t remember.” What was she supposed to do with that information? What proof was she supposed to have? If her fellow scions were here, she was sure she could make them vouch for her... unless...

     What if they had forgotten her too? They weren’t here though, so it was useless to think about. Right now, Soraya had enough issues as it was.

     Instead she decided to focus on some proof. What did she have? Always on the move, she wasn’t the sort to keep a lot of unnecessary things on her anyway. (Yes, the 40 stacks of crafting materials were extremely necessary.)

     “I must admit, I don’t have much in the way of prooving it either...” Much like a certain other miqo’te they both knew, her knuckled tapped her chin as she thought. “I have my journals, but that’s all in my own writing, so I’m unsure if you’d want that. It might just read like someone inserting themself into a story...”

     Except for everything, she had wanted to say.

     The woes of her homeworld followed her to the First and followed her here as well. What was happening back there, and were they managing without her? They resolved so many of their issues through her, she couldn’t help but be concerned if they could continue now that she was gone. They weren’t useless of course, but...

     At least with her time on the first, she could ask if there were any developments. Here she was left to wonder and let her thoughts carry her away.

     “…Me?”

     Soraya was rather positive that someone else deserved to hear those words, and not herself… She took a long look around to find no one else that could have been the target, however. Taking compliments was never easy for her, and she had to hold herself back from denying it.

Moss - how easily does your muse adapt to any new situations they’re thrust into?

     Extremely. It’s her job to be ready for anything, from doing favors to slaying gods. That takes some rather serious adaptability.

Cool Grey - if your muse could ensure one thing for certain in their future to come, what would it be?

     There is so much she wants to be able to ensure but to boil it down simply... The safety of each star, but she is quite sure she is not capable of that much. Despite being the ‘hero of heroes’, she is still one woman with only so much she can do.

     Oh, how she wishes to keep everyone safe. Peace is a faraway dream though, and she is unsure she will acquire such a thing in her mortal life.

Peacock Blue - is your muse honest? what sorts of lies do they tell, if not?

     The answer depends on your definition of honesty. If you were to ask the woman in question, she would say and genuinely believe she is the honest sort. The truth is that she’s lying to everyone, even herself.

     This place was certainly the most intriguing among all of the places that she had heard word of on Koi, so she had naturally proceeded to check it out. Ultimately, this kind of place, with its looming sense of danger and hostility, was much more her element these days than a peaceful metropolis. Not that she didn’t enjoy peace (she much preferred it) but she’d been nearly non-stop fighting for the past few years, and it wasn’t so easy to suddenly shift gears.

     Most of those she encountered in the area were humanoid vermin, simple troublemakers for her. But there was almost always someone or something standout, unusual, be it an enemy commander or some sort of ally, and Eve did believe she’d located that particular someone. Her quick survey of the purple-haired woman led to Eve’s judgment that she seemed relatively familiar in the ways of battle and could certainly take care of herself, but Eve couldn’t help but be curious; she couldn’t just leave her alone.

     So she inserted herself in the action, wasting no time on stealth (it simply seemed unnecessary for enemies such is these) and drawing the attention of both the mage woman and the various enemies that faced them. The flat tone with which the mage spoke to her seemed to confirm to Eve that her judgment of the woman as an ally was mutual,  or, at the very least, she didn’t see her as an enemy, even if her gaze wasn’t notably friendly (but neither was Eve’s, so who was she to judge?).

     “I assure you that I am perfectly capable of handling myself.” Moby and Remy instinctively hovered to her fingertips, combat-ready, just like herself. She didn’t know of the other’s combat abilities, nor did she have time to properly try to communicate for strategies, so it would probably be best to split the enemies into two halves and destroy one group herself, since the mage-woman seemed perfectly capable of taking care of herself (at the very least, she was confident).

     And so, to gather as many as she could, the best option would be…

     “Queen’s Verdict!” she shouted, with all the stern ferocity of a military commander. A massive spear, easily more than twice as long as Eve was tall materialized in her hand. She stabbed it forward and it pulsed neon blue with electric energy, a tiny black hole-like pull forming upon the spearhead’s point for only a moment as it reached its furthest point away from her before it exploded into several bursts of blue, setting the poor bandits caught in the explosions alight.

     She became suddenly aware of a clock, ticking down in her mind, currently at some 4 minutes 57 seconds, but she felt no looming danger from it, and thought nothing of it quite yet. She sent a glance towards Soraya.

     “I wish you the best of luck. Do show me what you can do. I entrust you with that half of them.”

     How reassuring that this stranger was capable and not her enemy. How very reassuring and how very refreshing. Perhaps she was getting a bit ahead of herself, but Soraya couldn’t help but think to herself how nice it would be to have something of an ally.

     Those were thoughts for later though. For now, there were more dangerous matters to focus on. Her tail flicked, and her eyes slit ever so slightly as she stared down her newfound prey. 

     She had no words for Eve, not much of one for words and especially on the battlefield. Instead, she began to caress the pages of her book, lights swirling around her in hues of green and red as alchemical and magic symbols from the pages stained the air before her, if only for a moment.

     This would have to be fast and efficient, as she had absolutely no defenses and no poor armored fool to send forth and take the hits, nor any summons to help her recover. That wasn’t much of an issue since a few bandits were nothing to a primal slayer.

     R e p o s e . Purple and black smoke began to swirl around Soraya’s feet as she cast spells at the enemies running directly her way. Immediately, they stumbled and landed face first in the ground. The spell was a simple one, causing them to sleep snugly in the mud.

     Her next targets were those not running at her, but shooting at her with arrows. More focused on slinging spells, she hardly noticed the arrow gashing the side of her arm open. Another flick of her fingers across her page and a flash of green light, and it was as if nothing happened.

     The number of offensive abilities she had was quite limited as Scholar, but she managed to go through the cycle of broil and biolysis. One by one the archers fell, just in time for the sleepy soldiers to start groaning and awaken. Dashing forward, Soraya made for a spot in the center of all of them, with a spell in mind to target them all.

     A r t   o f   w a r . With a tight grip on her mogtome, her other hand lunged forward and slammed into the ground as a large burst of dark energy swallowed the ground and those on the ground around her. It spiked up through them, taking a number out, but Soraya was quick to cast a few offensive spells at the remaining number.

     Quick and easy. She turned to watch the other woman and noticed she was just about done with her number. Soraya made a quick glance at her own work, making sure she hadn’t missed anything, before striding over to the other battlefield.

He was slowly growing more adjusted to this mundane and domesticated lifestyle. His progress towards it was little but there was a couple of things about this modern society that he learned, like how technology allowed them to make use of things much quicker, showers and baths that didn’t require such a difficult set up to produce hot water. Hells, even food that could be made with some water or put in a strange device that heated it up.

There were so many things he questioned, mind thinking back to what Allagan technology has accomplished and compared the difference between this so-called ‘modern’ technology. Even the device he was given was more convenient to use– but definitely not superior. There was a key difference with the quality and purpose of technology, verses conveniency and using it for the sake of ease; if not laziness.

As his eyes were fixated on the screen, he barely noticed the people around him. He did his best to avoid them whenever a shadow would enter his vision but there was one person he failed to noticed, who stood rather heavily on their own feet. Falling over,  a grunt passed his lips. The device remained firmly in his hand, but he may have a scratch or two on his left arm. “No, my apologies, I didn’t know where I was–”

His words come to an abrupt stop, head immediately looking up towards the other Miqo’te. So many things ran through his mind. Firstly, another Miqo’te– one he didn’t recognize. Secondly, how did she know his name and who he was? The Exarch’s chest raises, both in defence and from the utter confusion that passed his mind. Being called that name, it would almost be endearing… If it was from someone he knew.

“I’m sorry. Who are you? And how do you know me by that name?”

    A warm smile was spreading across her lips, so glad she was to see such a close friend. Despite the lies he had told her, she couldn’t fault him. Seeing him here did raise concerns, such as the distance between him and the tower, but also brought forth a memory.

     “I would ask her about her next adventure. And if she should wish me to be a part of it, oh... how happy it would make me.”

     This was a new place to explore, a new adventure she could have with him at her side. There were many questions she had, and she’d need someone with a higher intellect than her to piece it all together. Not that it mattered, as the words he spoke cut off that line of thought.

     “W h o   a r e   y o u ?”

     Her extended hand recoiled back ever so slightly as the rest of her body tensed. Who was she? A simple enough question, one she’s heard from many. Though she must admit, it was the first time she had heard it from someone she considered a friend.

     Had she not dealt with memory loss not once, but twice now, she’d outright refuse those words. She wanted to ask if he was joking, but she knew him better than that. Oh did she have a million questions, but it wouldn’t be good if he didn’t trust her to answer them.

     First off though, she had to figure out how much he had forgotten.

     Trying to piece his words together, she had completely lost track. She must have been frozen in space, considering his words, for a good thirty seconds before realizing her own silence. Soraya was tense but forced her body to relax ever so slightly.

Just a couple small updates! I’ve been feeling a little under the weather the past few days in a multitude of ways so it’s affected my writing a bit. Been sitting here staring for hours and got almost nowhere. I’d also like to mention real quick that I believe some asks sent to me over meme day got eaten as I got multiple notifs and then... nothing. So when I get to my memes, if yours isn’t there, that would be why.

     Oh, how well she already knew that. The sting was still undeniable. Even now, she wondered what Hydaelyn wished of her, and why Soraya couldn’t hear her voice. It had been so long since she heard from her Goddess... assuming she could even call her that anymore.

     “Your words hold no weight if you will not say them to my face.” 

     She was an adventurer after all, and curiosity had yet to kill this cat.

     It was more to it than that though. Someone whom she had spoken to before setting out on this journey seemed to have been separated from their friends. Soraya could understand how worried they would be, sharing the same worry about her own friends, and sympathized with the cause. It was far from her nature to leave someone in danger anyway.

     It hadn’t taken long to find some sort of danger. As Soraya made her way to this village’s center, she could see people scuttling in the shadows. Hand hovered over her mogtome, pondering if she should switch out her Scholar’s tools for Summoners... but the thought of someone being in danger caused her to hesitate. 

     She decided to take whatever came as she was. It wasn’t as if she was defenseless as she was.

     And it wasn’t as if she could use her egi anyway.

     It was when she paused to take a look at her surroundings that an arrow whizzed by, narrowly missing her as she sidestepped. Angrily, people stepped out of the shadows, and more then Soraya had originally counted. No matter, she could handle it. 

     They didn’t look ready to talk, which was fine. The Warrior of Light wasn’t much of one for words. Her mogtome was pulled up and held out, making a very unthreatening ‘kupo’ noise. 

     There wasn’t time for her to cast a spell or for another to rush in and attack before their attention averted, causing Soraya to follow their gaze. A woman, one Soraya could easily tell was not with them. 

     “I don’t know what they want, but if you’re not with them, I suggest moving elsewhere lest you get hurt.” Briefly did their eyes meet, Soraya’s gaze holding firm and not showing any sign of concern for what was about to go down. She felt no threat from the new arrival, and quickly went back to counting and surveying those who meant her actual harm. “Or, you can fight. Choose wisely.”

Tea Orange - what is something that your muse is fascinated with?

Lapis Lazuli -  does your muse prefer the idea of exploring the depths of the oceans, or the boundless expanses of space more?

     Exploring the idea has already passed since you could say Soraya has already done both of these. From swimming beneath the oceans and lakes of Doma and scouring the floors of the Tempest to floating through Hydalyns domain to exploring a star not her own.

     New experiences are what she lives for, so if she had to choose, the boundless expanses of space prove far more interesting. For what could be out there on those other stars? One already proved to be so different from her own, and lead to a whole new adventure. 

Olive - is your muse prone to feeling envious of others? if yes, what is it that they typically feel envious over?

     Soraya is not particularly the envious type, but she has her moments. Who doesn’t? If you asked her, and if she was willing to answer honestly, one thing she has been jealous of was her name. How she wished people wouldn’t just call her by her name. Luckily here, near no one knows her as the Warrior of Light. Just Soraya Minora.

Mallow - what sorts of things might remind your muse of those close to them? any scents, objects, sounds?

     Where does she even begin? There are so many little things that remind her of her fellow scions. Books would be an obvious one. So many of them liked to read. Perhaps not Thancred, but the rest of them to some degree.  It didn’t take much for her to think of them though. Seeing a group of friends, wandering down a beaten dirt path, even just a drink at the bar.
