The problem arises with the fact that A LOT of people are literally so hostile to Veronaville and its fans that at some point it becomes clear that we’re not welcome in a lot of Sims fandom spaces. Veronaville can’t come up once without someone complaining about how “boring” it is, or how they don’t like that there’s only three families, or that the premades are “boring.” And god forbid you like Tycutio, because apparently that can’t come up either without it being massively shit on. Can you imagine if someone did that anytime someone talked about Strangetown? Or Pasnerv?

And suddenly Veronaville gets a LITTLE bit of attention over literally a fanmade poll and a shitty Sims 4 remake of Tybalt Capp, and suddenly Veronaville fans are all insane and Simblr is just Tycutioland. God forbid we get SOMETHING after years of being ignored and brushed aside to the point of feeling the need to be recluse. How is it surprising that Veronaville fans are very passionate and protective of what we like after years of being shit on for it? Why are other fandoms of other neighborhoods allowed to show the same passion without any kind of pushback?

My point is, maybe don’t prove to us time and time again that we are unwelcome in most Sims fandom spaces and we won’t feel the need to be so defensive all the time. Do better, at the end of the day we’re all just people who like a 22 year old game that EA forgets about until they need to make some money.
