Then while living through such a hell, being witness to the ridiculousness of the fact that famous rich people get to walk free while charged by the federal government for espionage (that’s likely cost many American agents across the globe their lives) and attend their court proceedings like a civil proceeding only reminds me that this system is 100% corrupt and 100% flawed.

Those who deserve to be behind bars get to waltz free to cause more harm if they have the money to do so. While those who broke tiny laws that do not necessarily mean they ought to be behind bars are kept behind bars if they cannot pay for their freedom. This is absolutely a two-tiered justice system, but it’s not what far-right conspiracy believers think it to be, it is a two-tiered justice system that favors those with money while punishing & enslaving those without money. Just like everything else in the capitalist hellhole that is America, absolutely every fucking thing is geared to the favor of the rich. I cannot be proud of this country and it’s corrupt systems, I can only be enraged and ashamed of it, as we all should be.

America is a withering failure of a democracy and the law is an absolute joke.

So we have a problem with police brutality in this nation, which is utterly obvious. There’s been a hell of a lot of talk about defunding the police or disbanding them. But don’t we still need them in some ways? When crime and violence that is not borne of poverty occurs. Such as rape and hate crimes...

So why not instead of defunding or disbanding the police entirely... do we not have a personality test created that can tell us whether the individual taking the test is a bully, loves authority, or is racist. Then apply that test to every single police officer, and those who test positive for these are out of a job. Then apply the test to all new recruits, anyone who tests positive for these things is not qualified to become a police officer.

Then to ensure the police are policed, we install a oversight team for every precinct that are not cops but are pro-civil-rights lawyers or legal aides or law students. Every police officer receives a body cam that does not get turned off or stop recording (if they wanna use the bathroom etc, they leave the cam outside the stall), and a virtual oversight committee member. The cam footage is watched in real time by said member of the oversight committee. They could have a direct line of communication between the two, so if the officer crosses lines the committee member watching can try to talk them down while calling in another officer to try and defuse the scene. Etc.

This could even be good and helpful for officers too, because the oversight committee member watching their footage can also save them precious seconds by calling for back-up when an officer is in a situation in which they require back-up. Plus it would protect not just the public from the police officers that slip past the personality test, but also protect the officers from false accusations too.

So Bella gets a paper cut and Jasper attacks her for it and the Cullen clan go ape-shit all over a paper cut...

What did they do when she was on her period? Cuz if a paper cut caused that scene then they definitely could smell her period blood. So did she have to avoid Edward and the entire Cullen clan for a week once a month?

Ok I have fallen in love with this show and am currently binging Season 3, now I caught the meaning of Hell in the Season 2 finale, but the 7th episode of Season 3 reminded me about it. It's got me slightly confused. I think the show is saying that God nor the Devil decides who goes to Hell, but rather humans themselves by their own level of guilt... A concept I assume is derived from the Ancient Egyptian legend than upon death one's heart is weighed against a feather, and whether or not it's weight is greater than the feather determines how one spends one's afterlife...

But truly, is guilt not a version of Hell in life as it is? And how perfect is it to suggest that the literal Hell is a place of damnation for those who feel guilt over actions in their lives and then having to re-live the action that caused guilt over and over again in the afterlife...

Though, I am not entirely sure the show is saying one's level of guilt is what sends them to Hell in the first place. As there are some holes in it, like "what if Hitler never felt guilt for his actions cause he was a sociopath or psychopath, does that mean he didn't go to hell?" Or in general, if someone committed heinous acts in life, but never felt Guilty for those actions, would they then go to heaven despite having lived a wicked life?
