how you wish you never made that choice—a choice that shattered lives and destinies, a choice that sent you off too soon,

leaving your footprints upon the earth, echoing sorrow.

Footprints that cannot be undone,

your choice draws tears from weary eyes, and leaves grieving hearts inconsolable. Oh, how you wish to turn back time—to rewrite what has been done, to choose again, but better.

But the gate is shut—forever closed, never to open again.

Your spirit weeps as your offspring watch,

while enemies rejoice over your fall.

This is no good story, no worthy end.

Oh, how you wish you chose rightly—wish you had been brave enough, courageous enough to step away in time, disciplined enough to do what was right.

Oh, how you wish you knew—that gossipers never loved you, never sought your good.

It was all a test,

a path meant to lead you into glory.

And a leap of faith

would have supplied all your need.
