"Lets go for a dive and explore this opening" Said Thon to his friend.

"We should be be ok to look in here since we can hold our breaths for 4 minutes!"

Without being able to speak here, they both thought it was real cool to explore here, and the water was quite hot from the recent heat wave.

This goes further than I thought ? As Thon signals to Bahn as they enter deeper in. They didn't realize that there are no air pockets in here so they can't surface for a quick breath. By now ,they have been under for over a minute so they feel ok.

They begin to realize it is further than they thought, after diving for 2 minutes. Thon seems to be struggling a bit now as the tunnel seems to be "closing in around them". It was just a perception only. Bahn who seems to have a bit more energy continues on for he thought he saw the other end.

Bahn sees Thon starting to struggle to hold his breath and urges him to hang on. They have both been under for over 3 minutes and their lungs are starting to burn from the CO2 build up.

They look at each other in desperation now as they now know they may not make it. They are starting to get a bit frantic for air as their lungs burn to breath.

They looked at each other with hope fading fast and the look of terror started to wash over them like a vail of death as they see each other loosing air.

Bahn who was starting to pass out knew he just had to hold on till the end, It was painful and his fading thoughts went dark as his chest started to contract involuntarily . Thon to was at his end as his lungs became unbearable.

Bahn drifted to the tunnel floor as he released his last breath of life. Thon saw a glow in the top of the tunnel ... and it was an opening. A chance to stay alive. They have both been underwater for 4 minutes or more but it felt like an eternity.

He just finds enough strength to move his dying friend to the opening.
