wicckaplan:
“Oh, my God, are you insane?!”
The scoff that came from him was visceral. If there was one thing that Billy Kaplan had strong feelings about, it was super heroes. And he wasn’t going to let the likes of Teddy Freakin’ Altman. Standing in tandem with the taller blonde deep in the aisles of Forbidden Planet, he knocked their shoulders together. And although his voice held a tone of offence, his face? Told a different story. The grin that made his cheeks hurt, stretching from ear to ear, could be seen as clear as day and the laugh that followed his words wasn’t far behind. “Okay, okay, since you’re completely wrong, lets try something else. Who’d win between The Flash and Quicksilver? There’s one correct answer, and if you pick wrong then I guess you’re buying lunch after this.”
Thin fingers weaved through the plastic covered comic books, on a mission to try and find that one specific issue of Superman that he’s been on the hunt for a week at that point, but he seemed to be coming up empty. “Found anything good in your box, or is this a dud?” | @hulklingx
that scoff pulled an unbidden grin from his mouth, stretching across his face and crinkling the skin around his eyes and the bridge of his nose, “look, we can go back and forth on this all day but i still stand by it: the green lantern corp as a whole is a much better team than the justice league. i love the holy trinity as much as the next guy but if i had to pick a team to be in my corner, i’m picking the four corpsmen of earth.” billy knocked their shoulders together and teddy let his weight shift slightly with the bump, his hands still moving to flip through back issues of comics in the long cardboard box.
“hey, i’m not wrong it’s just a matter of preference!” he said with a laugh, shaking his head when he reached the end of the box and moved to lean over to the one stacked behind it, fingers deftly flipping through the colorful covers for that one issue he knows billy’s been looking for. oh, of course, this question. he made a pretense of thinking it over, blonde brows pulled together and his mouth twisted to the side in pretend deep thought before saying simply, “the flash. and before you try and tell me that i’m wrong, the flash has access to the speed force and as far as we know, quicksilver doesn’t have the ability to tap into that sort of unlimited power. has quicksilver ran so fast he time traveled? i don’t know. but i know wally west has.”
his head shook, causing blonde strands to fall in his eyes, fingers still flipping through the box, “nothing yet.” of course, he’s not really looking for himself right now-- there was probably something good in one of these boxes but his focus was on finding what billy was looking for. “green arrow or hawkeye?” then after a brief pause, he clarified, “hawkguy. not, y’know,” and his voice pitched a little lower, “our hawkeye.” ( kate would totally win. )
