Author’s Note:  I’m very sorry, but this is a farewell.  I’ve been struggling to find muse to continue this story for years at this point, and I think it’s time to admit I won’t ever finish it.  It got away from me, out of my hands, bigger than I could manage, and after the death of my mother I haven’t been able to find the strength to renew old projects.

So, in order to give some closure, I’ve decided to post some of my notes and a rough outline of that I would have liked to post if I’d been able to work on this story the way it deserves to be done.  If anybody out there wants to take it upon themselves to finish what I started, I give my full consent and support.  I’d love to get links to see what you do with it.

For those of you who want to know where I would have taken it, please keep reading.  For those of you who’d like to wait and see if someone else takes up the mantle, you should probably stop reading after the next paragraph.

Thank you for taking this journey with me.  I’m sorry I abandoned it.  I really am.  I wish I had the strength to finish it properly.  My OUAT phase has ended.  I don’t hear the characters whispering stories anymore.  I won’t try to force it.  So, I’m letting them go.  Thank you for your time reading my words and responding to them.  Your feedback kept me going through rough times.  Thank you.  Love, Tam.

“I wanted to be in Gryffindor, Liam,” Killian whined, his eyes most certainly not brimming with tears. “I told that daft old hat I wanted to be in Gryffindor!”

“And what did the hat say?” Liam asked the younger boy.

“It gave me a choice,” Killian huffed despondently.

Liam waited expectantly. Killian frowned and fidgeted, but Liam remained silent. Killian eventually sighed and explained.

“It told me it could do what I wanted or it could do what was right,” Killian murmured, quietly, looking embarrassed.

Liam studied his little brother for a long moment.

“Why does it upset you so?” he asked in a gentle voice.

“I wanted to be important,” Killian said.

Liam leaned back, steepling his fingers and touching them to his lips.

“You think being sorted to Hufflepuff makes you unimportant?”

This was drawn a little while back, but while inking I made a Huuuuuuuuuge mistake and accidentally blotted out Killian’s eyes. Twice. Yes, I’m that skilled. Eventually it had to be fixed via Corel painter, so I can only hope that it looks okay. >_<*

Also, I had forgotten to color in Liam’s sweater. Oops. ^^;

In any case, I’m pretty happy with this one and the fact that Liam actually looks like Liam. :) I always imagined this scene occurring somewhere on the staircases, way up high where some of them are more stationary. Particularly as Liam says the line, “I’ve been at Hogwarts a little while longer than you have, so you should listen to me.” And my headcanon is that he’s explored the ups and downs of the place, therefore he knows which is which. ^^

Author’s Note:  Someone recently found my FFN account and read through every fic I’ve written, leaving a review on each chapter.  It blew me away, and I found the strength to finish this chapter than I’d been sitting on for a while.

I have no idea when the next update will be.  I’m still a mess after losing my mom in January.  But here’s something:

The following night was the Halloween Feast and the choosing of the Tri-Wizard champions. Emma barely made it through her classes in a daze. Sitting in the decorated hall, sandwiched between Mary Margaret and Ruby, Emma felt a little like she was suffocating. She had that itch between her shoulderblades, like something was going to happen. Good or bad? She had no way to know.

She felt a tiny sliver of relief when McGonagall took the podium to begin the ceremony. At least the suspense part was over.

"You wish." The blonde retorted, a slight frown on her features, but her face softened - she always failed miserably at being angry at him - when he swirled aroud the handle of his broomstick, his face so close to hers that she could feel his hot breath burning her skin.

They’d met each other during a game 4 years ago, when she had sent a Bludger toward him when he was about to pass the Quaffle through a ring. He had fallen from his broomstick and she had caught him, flying down toward the ground and calling for a doctor.

He ended up with a dislocated shoulder. He had stayed at the infirmary for a long time, and she felt so guilty that he had decided to visit him everyday. That’s how they had bonded; despite her original reluctance to let another guy in - after Neal -, she had eventually admitted her feelings for him and he, his for her.

She smiled at him, quipping. “Well, I got 2 hands. That’s pretty useful.” She winked at him.

The day she had hit him and brought him to the infirmary, she had been surprised to see he had only one hand, since he had the reputation to be the best player of the school. And he sure was.

He had been a bit uneasy when she had asked him what was the story behind his missing limb. He had finally told her that he was born in a Muggle family and that he had been in a car accident with both his parents at the age of 6. He had lost his left hand and became an orphan that day.

Emma had felt even more attracted to him at the time, because she had also spent her 11 first years in different muggle foster families, and hadn’t found her family until she had come to Hogwarts - despite the whole Neal thing.

He had then explained to her that he was afraid of being in a car nowadays. That’s why he was enjoying flying on a broomstick so much. And he had mastered that skill despite his disavantage.

He pouted, as if trying to appear miffled, but his facial expression broke and he laughed. “Aye, it is. But I remember I’m rather talented one-handed, don’t you think?”

The very expicit innuendo elicited a giggle from her. She nodded and then ran her hand through his hair, his head still just a few inches away from hers, and upside down.

His eyes flickered to her lips and then back to her green orbs. “Aren’t you gonna wish some luck to a quite disabled man, then?” 

I’ve been getting little flashes of inspiration (and lovely prompts! please keep those coming!) for HPKJ—that’s my OUAT Hogwarts AU, for my new followers—but nothing like a full story, yet…

I know HPKJ originally started as a set of drabbles, and I’m thinking it will be headed back that way for a little while until the next plot develops more clearly.
